Learn while you play!
I am excited to write a review of the World Card Series. The complete set includes 14 decks (2 decks for each of the 7 continents). These cards are well designed, attractive, and contain cool information. The cards can be used to play traditional card games. Additionally, there are several ideas on alternative games and learning activities, such as Global Fish, and Memory. There are a number of things I like about these cards, perhaps the most salient, at least for me, are the positive memories the different country cards bring to my mind. I have had the privilege of working on several international projects and lecturing and teaching in a number of countries. One of the best parts of playing with these cards is when I look at a country card or contideck fact and remember my many good friends. Tonight as I was writing this, I looked at two cards: Kazakhstan and Taiwan, two countries where not only do I have great friends, but I have wonderful memories of being there. The World Card Series brought a smile to my face as I thought about my friends and students. My family has enjoyed playing with this unique set of cards that not only spark conversations, but share useful information about the world. I recommend this card set without reservation.I have been a supporter and advocate of this project since its early days. I agreed to support and advocate for the project without any compensation, other than a discounted copy of the game. I agreed to do this for several reasons. First, I believe in the idea behind the game (help all of us learn about the world and the wonderful people who live here. Second, I simply think this is cool, I like the design and the careful work that went into ensuring the the information was accurate. Finally, I love supporting projects by enterprising creators. To me, these cards are not only a welcome addition to our family's game collection, but more importantly to me, a reminder of all of the wonderful people I have met from across the globe. I hope you will be able to enjoy playing with the cards with your family and friends.

Cool cards but expensive and not academic quality
I bought these cards in the hopes of using them with our homeschooling history and geography curriculum as a fun way of familiarizing my kiddos with the different countries on each continent. I even hoped to use them as pseudo-flashcards. Granted I have only gone through the European deck but when I did, I found it was missing six countries (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kosovo, Moldova, Monaco, and Montenegro), included northern Ireland, Scotland, and England as independent countries when they are not, AND included Lebanon.....These are definitely cool cards to have around if you play as many card games as our family does, and we will use them. However, they are not academic quality and seemed to be a bit overpriced given that at the end of the day they are simply 14 decks of standard playing cards.

Fun and learning for families
As a therapist who works with families on communication skills, cooperation, building relationships, etc. I will often use games and activities to teach skills. Whenever I tell a family that we are going to "play a game," all the current relationship problems go out the window and for a brief time, everyone is on board to follow the new rules of whatever game we are playing. Even the most resistant child will often suspend their apprehension and participate in a game. It is a powerful tool to get families working together. So, of course, I'm always looking for new games to add to my toolbox. This is a great product to use when teaching skills. I can incorporate so many different card games with discussion topics that help reinforce the rules (or skills) I am trying to teach. It also allows for multiple players so families with one child or multiple children can participate at the same time. That is a dream come true. Some games are made for two people only so finding something that is flexible for the different sizes of families is great. The worldwide facts on the cards also provide topics to discuss and explore. This is a great tool for therapists and families and can be used and adjusted to the changing needs (and age) of a child. It is also beautifully designed. Educational and fun.I highly recommend it.

A Must-Have for Educators!
World Card Series quickly caught my interest as a home educator. I had been looking for supplemental tools that would be a fun and engaging way to teach world geography...World Card Series is it!First, the quality of the cards is excellent. I anticipate using the cards for years to come, so I'm pleased that the cards are sturdy. The graphics on the cards are so great! We enjoy the country flags on the cards - what a great touch to the overall look of each set of cards.Secondly, the information on the cards for each continent, or ContiDecks, is so intriguing and really seems to grab the attention of my kids (and even me!). The versatility of the card decks really help in teaching about world culture. There are so many ways that I plan to use the decks when studying world geography. It is easy to use for all ages, so I'm really excited!I highly recommend World Card Series as a fun and interactive tool for every classroom! And even if you aren't an educator, but you love world culture, you'll still learn so much while having fun.

Not worth the money
Definitely not for a 6yr/7yr old. Kids wanted to read on their own but they just lost interest when they saw 4-5 liners of difficult words. This is way expensive.
