These were purchased for a balcony vinyl railing, from which pigeons had a commanding view of the neighborhood to determine where food might be available. So far (three weeks in), it has resolved my pigeon problem. Since I live in a rental, I used nylon cable ties (purchased separately) to secure the product to the railing. They are removable without leaving holes or silicone caulk residue. Do this only if you have strong hands that can tighten the rather stiff cable ties to just the right tightness.The product appears to be durable, is easily cut or snapped at scored lines to desired length (seems to be unique in this respect) , and is well-backed by a 25-year warranty. While I'm not crazy about the appearance of the polycarbonate base, the ease of installation overcame that concern. A highly skilled maintenance man, upon seeing the installation, asked if he could have the order information to share with someone else. That's a pretty high compliment. The included 40-page guide clearly explains and illustrates how pigeons look at the world, how spikes fit into that world, why culling pigeon populations doesn't work in the long term, and other useful information.

I bought these items to stop the birds from landing on a couple of corners around dormer's on my roof. After putting them up I waited six months to write this to see if they worked. They worked great, No more bird crap down the side of my house. They were a bit of work to set up because you have to put them together, and bend the wires a bit, Then use some type of silicone to install them. Still, it was worth it.

I had ran out of every option I tried to keep Morning Doves from nesting under the roof of my Tiki Bar. A friend recommended these and they work well! The good thing is visually they do not detract. The base is clear plastic and stainless wire barbs snap in well.My only complaint is you need tiny screws to install it. The directions talk about using special adhesive but that would add time, cost, ect., plus I was spanning across two boards in a few places so only the ends as option to mount. The plastic bases have small crosses/holes molded it for anchoring so I used a very small wood screw on each end. Because the screws were small and going into pressure treated wood I had to drill small pilot holes first. Just time consuming is all.

Easy to install... Seems to stay put. No more bird droppings on my patio. Doesn't harm the birds.

They were easy to assemble and the pigeons don't perch on my balcony. Seems like a win.

Dang birds! They kept building a nest in my gazebo. I wouldn’t mind if they didn’t poop all over my table and chairs. We battled for weeks with me putting up a strip and extending it every time they built next it. I finally won. It doesn’t look the prettiest but it worked. My next step would have been selfish but 100% effective.

How did I never write a review for this? It's well over a year later and this garbage product is still on a shelf in case I can ever repurpose the parts.You have to put it together, right? Well, there's no assembly required because it's not possible to assemble them. None of the parts line up correctly. You can't get it pushed more than halfway in. I know I did reach out to the seller about this issue and it really wasn't a concern to them. So I really regret not having left this review earlier. I wonder how many people have gone through a buy and return the cycle with this garbage product. I paid for it and have never been able to use it because it was just plain manufactured wrong. Don't purchase this product. Pay a little bit more money and get something that's much easier to work with that actually functions.

I bought this to stop raccoons and possums going over the fence. Doesn’t seem to affect them but does stop squirrels from getting into our fruit plants from the fence. Saved some fruits for us !

I bought these expecting the same quality Defender Sikes I bought previously. The spikes were flat packed and required the customer to assemble each spike individually. This obviously is time consuming particularly if you requre a large quantity, and they were not cheap. I do not recommend.
