great alternative to hair dye!
i have this clump of grey that really bugged me, so i tried the henna just on this one clump. it doesn’t magically dye the grey hair to dark brown/black like the rest of my hair, but it definitely made the greys blend in better with the rest of my hair. it also conditioned my hair nicely which was a nice bonus. :)for what it is—a natural product, cheap, and diy friendly—it works really well. definitely worth a try as an alternative to harsh chemical products.

Doesn't cover grays, but blends really well!
If you have mostly gray, you might have to either get a much darker shade or be ok with copper hair instead of brown. That being said, as someone with roughly 25% gray, this is a great alternative to permanent dye. While it doesn't actually cover my gray, it blends them really well so it looks like natural highlights instead. The chestnut brown gives grays a deep copper hue, rather than brown. On hair that is still pigmented, the henna is very conditioning and adds a lovely richness. Made my neutral brown hair look very warm. The conditioning effect lasts through quite a few washes. Downside is that it can be difficult to saturate all hair, and if you have a lot of hair, expect to be making more than a couple batches. Great natural alternative to dyes!

Great color---bad reaction to
Color turned out great... But it's been over a week and my scalp is still burning and itching like crazy. Pure henna allergic reactions are extremely rare. Allergic reaction to something else that's cut into the henna is not so rare.I really want to believe that nothing else was cut into this henna. Yes there's Indigo in it too, to create the darker shade.I've been using henna for years and have never had a reaction this bad.. a couple times there was a little bit of itching when I had it on my hair but then it went away as soon as I rinse it out.Something's not right!!I highly recommend doing a patch test and even waiting a couple days as reactions to impurities can crop up later.

This Henna Works for Me
I have been using Rainbow Henna for years and it works great on my hair. It doesn't dry it out and leaves a nice reddish tint to my hair. I can't use regular chemical dyes, because of allergic reactions and I rather just forego toxic chemicals being added directly into my bloodstream. So, this is the reason I chose Rainbow Henna. If you follow the directions and look online for further ways to enhance the usage of Henna, then this will make your hair look shiny and full of color. If you don't follow the instructions, then you may have differing results. Be forewarned that this is messy and to use gloves, plus put some sort of balm around your hairline and face, as to not leave stains on your skin.

Works great
Quite a bit darker than the light brown, and less reddish hue. But the darkness fades faster than the henna so it needs to be done more often to keep it dark. I tend to mix the two together, and sometimes add the copper color. You can get quite a few dye jobs out of one little tub. I did notice that I had a slight reaction to the darker color when it gets on my skin. It also stains the skin more than the lighter colors. I tend to use this on my roots more than the whole head. Makes it look more natural.

Didn't work for my grey hair
I have naturally dark brown hair and I'm starting to have more and more grey hair and they're becoming more visible so I decided to do something about it. I did everything according to the instructions - used clarifying shampoo, mixed henna with coffee instead of water, kept it warm, and left it on my hair for about 3 hours (they recommended 60+ minutes). The only thing it did with my grey/white hair was that now it has a yellow hue. So, not much of an improvement. I see that the henna did get activated (it gets activated by heat) because my brown hair now has darker shade than it did before and is almost black. May not buy again because it didn't work for the purpose.Update: Washed out after about a month. The hair was smoother, shinier, easier to manage and less frizzy while it was still on it. After it fully washed out, hair is back to its regular texture.

Covers gray, leaves hair softer and richer color
I've been using this for several years now. I have thin, brown hair that was starting to turn gray. By mixing hot tea, henna, a little apple cider vinegar to help cover gray and coconut oil as conditioner, and then heating for 45 minutes and then leaving on another hour or two, I consistently get full coverage of gray as well as richer but natural looking brown hair with red highlights, and softer/healthier as well. The only catch is that if I cover all my hair rather than just roots (a bit tricky as I have short, thin hair), my hair gets a few shades darker over time, but still looks very nice and natural. Yes, there is an earthy smell when you do this (and I don't really mind it) and takes 15-20 minutes to really rinse all of it out, but if you do this regularly gets easier and easier and pretty relaxing. I don't worry about staining any more as thick enough consistency to stay where I put it and washes out of sink or tub with no problem. Washes off skin as well.

It is AMAZING will buy again! I have light brown hair and it made it perfectly dark brown. Works like a light natural hair dye.😀
