I had ants bad last summer, hoping not this one too!
I had ants bad last summer, and saw this tray, and decided to give it a try. I read all the directions, and the comments from other purchasers, and got it put together, bug gel in the feet, and up and on the floor in a matter of minutes. I did use gloves to put the gel in the table legs, made life very easy, and none of the mess I see people say that they've gone through. Non-slip feet help it not slide, color wasn't an issue for me, it's just going on the floor for cat food. Seems to be very sturdy, should last a long time, and can always buy more bug gel when needed. So far so good, no ants makes for a happy me!

Very effective and sized large enough for automatic feeder
This tray works really well and keeps the ants at bay. Has 4 legs that are surrounded by a gel (like vaseline) to keep ants from getting up on the tray. I was having tons of ants attack my cat's food and this has stopped them in their tracks. You can try to wage war against all the ants in your house with poison (and still lose) or you can get one of these for each cat or dog bowl. I have 2 and they are lifesavers, especially during warm weather when ants take over my kitchen. One of the best pet items I have ever purchased. No moving parts, unobtrusive, easy to clean, and does exactly what it is designed to do!

THIS WORKS!!!
THIS IS AMAZING! Solved our ant problem nearly instantaneously. We have a new kitten, and we leave dry food out for her all day/night. The ants found the food. It was gross. I tried various solutions, like cleaning the floor with vinegar and creating moats for the food dishes. Those didn’t work - messy or ineffective or both. I was so happy to find this tray and read the great reviews. IT WORKS! And it’s not too high for our kitten to eat from. She can also sit on it to eat and it easily holds her weight. Just remember to keep the tray freestanding (even just an inch to two around all sides - see next paragraph). Also, I want to compliment the manufacturer’s customer service. The ants came back, and I was so befuddled that I reached out and asked for their help. They immediately spotted the issue. The tray had bumped up against the base of the toilet, so the ants could access it from the top and avoid the gel. The customer service was super helpful and super prompt and solved the problem immediately.Thank you!!!

These work wonders!
Use for outdoor "adopted" kitties. No ants whatsoever since we bought. I check every so often and have only added more of the "sticky stuff" twice, even after rinsing/washing tray. We have 2 since one brought a friend with him one day.

Terrific!
I have tried many things to prevent ants from getting into my cat's food, but they all involved some kind of moat or water barrier which was messy and required constant cleaning. This BugSnub Ant Proof Tray is the solution to the problem! It arrived quickly and was well packaged. Easy to assemble and set up. I used a popsicle stick to spread the repellant goop under the legs so that I wouldn't have to wear gloves or get the goop all over my fingers. The size of this tray is perfect for my automatic feeder and is very sturdy. I placed it about an inch or so from the wall. The surface of the tray is slippery, so I may have to put a non-slip mat under my feeder to keep it from sliding around. Optional colors would have been a plus, but the black is just fine. Time will tell if it keeps ants from getting into the food, but so far so good! Very happy with this purchase. Well worth the price.

WE HAVE A WINNER!
* BUG SNUB Ant Proof Tray - Waterless, Moat Free Cat and Dog Food Tray for Crawling Pest Free Pet Food Feeding Station *My apartment has been invaded by really small, black ants over the last week. I've sprayed for them. Maintenance has sprayed for them. If there's a morsel of food on the floor, there is a cluster (100s) of them on it in a few hours. I found this BUG SNUB tray on Amazon with same day delivery and installed (simple) it yesterday evening. I fed the furball who never eats ALL her food and waited... no ants. Yesterday morning there were hundreds swarming all over it. This morning... ZERO ants! I'm truly amazed how well this device works. Its construction is VERY solid with high-quality components. It doesn't slide around and assembly instructions make it easy to put together. The repellent comes in 4 packages, one for each leg, are stated to last a year and are available on Amazon. No... it's not cheap, but for what you get it's worth twice the price and I'd say it's a great value for the money as I can leave food in the bowl 24/7. Highly recommend.

Efficient at stopping bugs!!
It actually works! It says it’s for ants, but it’s been keeping earwigs away too. I haven’t seen a single one in my cat’s water dish since I started using it. I also am thinking about picking up two more for their auto feeders in the basement. That area tends to get bugs, but I can’t move the dishes upstairs because the little ones always get into the food and water dish.

Seems good. Some thoughts...
So I got this tray for my 8 year old indoor/outdoor cat. With the rain finally coming, in California, we've had a trail of ants every now and then from the front door to the cat bowl. The tray is the right size, not too small, and not too big. Perfect for 2 bowls, I often have one iced timed bowl for early mornings and then another bowl.I just set it up, so can't comment on effectiveness yet, but I do have two initial thoughts:1) The surface of the tray is very slick. So unless your pet bowls have some sort of bottom on them that won't slide around, pets are going to struggle with that! I happened to have some of that sticky waffle shelf paper rubber stuff handy, so I cut a piece and put it straight on there, which should solve the slippery problem.2) The instructions show someone putting the goopy stuff on the tray cups with their bare hands... so I did that, figuring it would wash off with soap. It does not, and leaves you with this disgusting, sticky residue all over your hands for... I don't know how long. They should tell you to wear gloves.Anyway, will try to update on it's effectiveness once we have a chance for the rein to come again. It'll be nice of this solution keeps ants away from pet food effectively! I might get another for our feral!
