Exactly what I needed
I had previously worn down the plastic pedals on my hybrid to the point where they did not grip very well. These pedals made a great replacement. The pedals have metal nubs which grip my shoes very well. They are not sharp pins like you see on more competitive style pedals. My shins feel safe. The integrated reflectors are helpful. As others have mentioned, the pedals do not spin as freely as you might expect, but that does not bother me.

Good pedals for the price
I purchased them because they looked a lot like my old pedals, which were some of the best I ever owned, and have owned for 8 years. After tons of abuse, on of them sheared off and I needed to replace it in a hurry. So about these, getting a pair of large aluminum pedals with reflectors for 18$ is pretty good. Unfortunately these do not live up to the standard set by their predecessors. Specifically they do not spin free and one of the pedals feels slightly out of round as it turns under my foot. Not spinning free isn't a big deal, but the squirming sensation under my foot as I pedal is a deal killer. Will have to upgrade to something better later, but for now these will do. Edit: After riding for awhile the squirming sensation went away and they seem to spin easier now though not totally free. So apparently these pedals just need to be broken in to be good. Also forgot to mention I like that they have round bumps, instead of jagged bolts for grip surface. Much safer for your shins.

Nice
Nice pedals. You do, however, have to look VERY closely to find the "R" and "L" marking on the end of the pedals, where they screw into the crank arm. That seems to be typical of a lot of these kinds of pedals. There's also the "standard" stripe marking on the left pedal, and only smooth surface on the right pedal. (Also, all you really need to do is install the pedals so that the writing, ZONKIE, is readable when looking down on the pedals while sitting on the bike. If they're right side up, you've got them placed properly. If they're upside down, they're reversed.) For what they are, they appear to be well made and they provide a nice stable surface area for my tennis shoes. I put these on an Ebike, along with inexpensive Zefal Christophe half toe clips. (That little project required longer screws, which I always have on hand, and some washers, because the area where I attach the toe clips is angled just enough to require longer screws.) Together, they provide just what I was looking for -- a wide and secure surface that keeps my feet exactly where I want them, with the freedom to disengage them easily, while avoiding full-on clip-ins and/or full toe straps. And from what I can tell they spin about the same as the pedals that originally came on my bike, a Yamaha Urban Rush. (A lot of folks criticize these types of pedals for being too stiff and not spinning freely enough. For me, that's not an issue, but if that is an issue for you these probably aren't the pedals for you.)

Solid construction at a great price
Very solid all-metal construction. I use trail or walking shoes and these pedals work great at keeping my shoes on the pedals on my comfort bike. They are just wide enough to distribute weight across the entire width of my feet. This eases the stress on my inner toes when hill climbing or distance riding. Satisfied enough to purchase another pair for my mountain bike. The left pedal has the grooved spindle. A hint when installing and removing pedals: forward on-back off. I attached Zefal "Cristophe" toe clips (size L/XL) for my size 10.5 (U.S. men) trail shoes. It took a little effort. I took a screw and nut that came with the toe clips to the hardware store, and bought longer screws, washers, and nylon spacers. For the nylon spacers, I needed 5/16" length x .194" I.D., but ended buying 2/16" and 3/16" as 5/16" was not available. I also bought nuts since I wanted all the metal parts to be stainless steel. The reflectors were easy to pop off. Don't try prying them out from the front, it's way easier to pressed a wood shim (or something similar) to the back. Took it out for an hour and a half road ride and it worked fine. Took a little practice to kick into the toe clips because the pedals are grippy, but after awhile, I got the hang of it to kick in smoothly. I'll update if I have any issues with this setup in the next year.

Nice, good price & easy install
They came well packaged. Note the L and R as you install on Left & Right. Easy peasy. Seems like a good fit and feel for my hybrid bike. Slightly bigger foot surface than the old ones (which is what I was looking for).

durable, easy install
These pedals were essential as the last two bicycle pedals I purchased broke in exactly the same way. Many pedals offer a steel frame but use plastic on the connector, causing the plastic to wear out and the pedal to slowly slide off. This pedal is steel throughout, with gripping pegs on the outer edge to hold your shoe in place without tearing up the bottoms of your shoes. I hope to get many years out of these pedals!

Edits and update: I changed to 4 starts. After several rides the bearings did became much more loose, albeit not equally between left and right. So for the price these pedals are very much OK! Decided to give these a try, despite having read quite some 4-3 star reviews and I have to conclude with the feedback some of it is quite on point. - The bearings: the axle rotates very stiff. After unpacking the rotation is not free and very stiff. Could be too high bearing tension in the axle, it's a machined assembly. Or the axle/bearing grease as become hard. Some sub 4 star reviews mention this. Thought it could be a production 'fluke' but it is not. Please take notice and consider this vs the price before buying! - The serviceability: you can NOT service or disassembly the axel or bearings! Considering the price, decided to void the warranty and take the bearing covers out to have a look at them. The axle and bearing are fully sealed. The product description is 100% correct on this. - The grip: this is actually good with pins that are not very sharp. Which imo is a pro as quit a lot of higher end platform pedals, with screw in pins, do damage soles shoe soles.

Ces pédales sont très bien construites,en aluminium, avec de très bons crampons pour éviter aux chaussures de glisser et elles sont montées sur roulements. Je m'en sers sur mon VTT. Excellent rapport qualité-prix !

I wanted a sturdy, quality pedal with built-in reflectors and a solid platform for my feet, and at a good price. These pedals met these requirements perfectly.
