Simply the best. Easy to use. Sturdy and durable. A bit expensive but worth it.

It's not the regular Lechuza, be careful, but otherwise works
It came as a surprise as this has different mechanism compared to all the other bigger and more expensive Lechuza I have purchased. This one, there's no Lechuza PON as the medium for sucking water up. Rather, it's designed to take right sized pot directly in and relies on a wick that pokes into bottom of of inner pot to suck water up. I'm not sure how long this mechanism would last actually but we will see. But I guess I can just change the wick with some candle wick, should it stopped working. Because of this design, you are basically limited to a particular sized pot. Here in California, I did find some with just the right size. So far it worked well. It is rather limiting those, as I've found plenty of other flower with similar sized pot but not the right shape, so won't work.I ordered two, for the second, I decided to purchase some cheap liner, cut to the right size and burnt some little holes. I've also purposed a huge box of Lechuza PON off ebay, and tested this set up, seems working. How well it works though, we will have to wait. Planning to plant some orchid in that set up, will report back if it's working as intended.

Well constructed, very solid.
Lechuza 13384 Cube Color 14 Self-Watering Garden Planter for Indoor plants is very well constructed, easy to assemble and comes in a variety of colors. The wick system is easy to set up by simply inserting it into the bottom of your pot. I would recommend this product as a first purchase if you're new to self watering systems.

Great way to keep my plant properly watered
I needed to transplant my maidenhair fern and read about this pot on a website I went to for advice on this process. I have had it for a week or so and it is very easy to see when I need to add water to the unit. My fern is very happy with lots of new growth. I am very pleased. In addition to working well, it's very attractive.

This isn't a self watering pot...
I kept hunting and hunting for the right self-watering pot to use with pon. I finally bit the bullet and spent far more than I wanted on this thing, thinking the manufactures of Pon would obviously sell me the best planter for the job. Imagine my surprise when I get it here and realize there's a great big gaping hole in the bottom. I assumed something was missing.. Then I discover they sell a bottom for this planter separately.. So what you get here is a reservoir with a liner that I presume they expect you to put a pot inside of or buy their bottom.I went ahead and bought a package of 6 different sized self-watering planters for like $18. As far as this thing, I'll make a bottom for it and remember this lesson. It really should have been made blatantly obvious what you are getting. I can't imagine how many newcomers buy this thing and have the same experience.

A little expensive, but...
...they work really well. Even if you have never been able to keep plants alive, you will with this planter. I tend to check the water level every few days, but only have to fill it about once a month. Talk about worry free and easy! They come in many colors, shapes and sizes. I'm saving up to get one of the tall ones to grow a rubber tree in the house. They are nice looking and very easy to deal with.

Terrific self watering cube for your fresh herbs for the summer
The Lechuza products works the way you expect them to. They have a well for keeping water so that if you go out of town for a two or three days in warm weather your flowers and plants won't all die from the heat. This is especially nice since it's designed to hold the plant containers for herbs purchased at the local grocery store. We have several Lechuza planters and they are quite simply the best we have found. They are far superior to anything Gardeners sell or most of the other Garden supply magazines and online stores.
