Metal Bed Frame - Monster - Heavy Duty - Adjustable Frame - for Twin,Full,Queen,King,California King

This frame is well made; the HEAVY DUTY title description is completely accurate. The frame itself is made with thick metal bars. The wheels and legs are a combination of metal and plastic, all of it super sturdy. I'm using it with a heavy King sized wood knock down type foundation and heavy foam rubber mattress, and the thing is a rock.Pros:- Well made with quality materials and wide center bar- Center bar runs from top to bottom of the bed. This is important if your foundation / box spring has a center board running its length on the bottom, or if you are using a split foundation (two twin foundations for a King mattress, for example). Some frames have a center bar running side to side instead, which is not as supportive.- Plenty of contact points with the ground to keep everything sturdy and stable over time- Won't budge once built and in place, 2 of the 4 wheels can lock so the frame won't wiggle- Wheels and center gliders let it move pretty easily if you need to move it- Has standard bracket for a headboard if you'd like to attach one- Installation is straightforward; the only tool you need is a screwdriverCons- More expensive than other frames, but well worth it for the quality and longevity!- No brackets for a footboard if you want to use one

The height offset of the center beam could be considered a design flaw of an otherwise very good quality sturdy frame. Thankfully there is a cheap and simple solution. I read a review on the mattress underground about someone needing to use a 0.5 inch thick piece of wood in order to have the center beam be level with the side frames. I went to home depot and got a 0.5 inch x 2.5 inch x 56 inch long wood moulding (had them cut it to length) and it raised the center beam perfectly. It cost me about $7. I attached the wood moulding on the center beam with packing tape. It's called S4S moulding and costs $1.49/foot for those interested. Someone in the Q&A section also asked about the height difference. I'm glad I ran into these couple comments about the center height and was prepared before my new mattress and box spring were delivered. In the attached picture you can see the white 0.5 inch thick wood moulding taped to the center beam.The cardboard packaging isn't well insulated so one of the headboard brackets and one of the metal bedposts were slightly bent, but nothing you can't adjust with at bit of hammering.

I chose this frame mainly for two reasons. The first being that I wanted a heavy duty frame that would last and when I chose to upgrade to a larger size bed, I could use the same frame. After some research, I ended up with the Knickerbocker brand. These bed frames are made with recycled railroad steel ([...]) and I don’t think you can get a stronger bedframe! My parents have this same frame that they’ve had for 35+ years with their waterbed and I figured if it could hold a waterbed, it could hold a conventional mattress no problem.The bed doesn’t move when changing position, getting in and out of bed, normal ‘exercising’ that happens in bed, and even when sitting on the end of the bed, it doesn’t move, and is very stable feeling. If I had a complaint, it would be that the frame is brown and the wheels are white. I wish they were brown to blend in better, but it’s a small thing.

I ordered this frame as it had wheels and looked very sturdy. When it arrived the box was very beat up. Upon opening it I found the frame bent in front and very dirty. This company either has very poor packaging engineers or in general just don't care. the frame is sturdy enough and overall OK after a frame repair and cleaning, BUT would not buy it again. My impression is the company only cares about anal manufacturing.

So far, so good! Me and my husband are not small size and this frame is working great! We also have two children that believe they are gymnists while on our bed. Frame was easy to put up, and the instructions tell everything that is needed to know. I am still baffled why people stated there was a need for better instructions. The only issue I had putting it together was having the joints slide completely in place but I was doing a king size and I did it by myself. I just took a hammer to knock it in to place. ( do not do this, just ask for help!!)

As a big guy, I have broken my faith share of items including but not limited to chairs, toilet seats and bed frames. This is the part about obesity no one wants to talk about. But, this bed frame is as good as they come. I've had it several years now, and It has helped me take back my life just by giving me the confidence in knowing I can get a good night's rest without fear of the bed collapsing. That is major for me!!! Seriously life changing. It's not the easiest to assemble and probably would be best with 2 people doing it. The king size component adds an addition bar/sleeve and most definitely would need 2 people to assemble. The metal is cast iron heavy, this not a punk Wal-Mart bed frame, it's a true gem.

Easy to put together and certainly heavy duty. Good price and fast delivery. I'd recommend it for a large, heavy bed.
