This chocolate is the real thing
This is the best chocolate for Spanish hot chocolate. Thick and luscious, tastes divine alone or with churros, porras, or chunks of good bread. I use one whole tablet per four cups of milk. Milk should be 2% or whole; I use lactose free milk and it is as good as the regular kind. Bring it up to a boil over medium heat, break the chocolate in cubes, and add to the milk right before the boiling point. Turn the heat to medium low and stir constantly with a large spoon, squishing the chocolate against the side of the pan until dissolved. For extra thickness I bring it to a second boil, never stopping stirring, and then take the pan off the heat and I let it stand until it has cooled off a bit. This might take awhile but it is worth it.Most instances, I use two tables to half a gallon of milk, and save what the four of us do not drink for the next day. It is SO delicious!

Great chocolate!
Blanxart has been my favorite ever since I first bought it, pretty much on a whim, at a cheese shop in Vermont a couple of years ago. I was really excited to find I could buy it on Amazon, but, living in Texas, I'm limited on when I can buy it, as it just can't survive the heat. But, about the chocolate, the flavor and texture are great! I like that old-world, kind of gritty texture, so different from the smooth, overly sugary, mass-produced "chocolates" people buy every day. You must try Blanxart!

The best “chocolate a la taza” in my opinion
Excellent to make what we call a “swiss” in Spain: hot chocolate topped with cream. And if you have it with some churros, the result is amazing. This chocolate is my favorite. The vanilla touch is perfect. Intense and smooth at the same time.

Tastes like colonely
Honestly it's good, not great... Gives a lot of flavor, but so do other cheaper brands. I used this in hot chocolate and it was good enough for me.

This is my favorite chocolate I've ever had. The sugar crystal texture when I bite into it is very nice, plus it melts easily to make really good hot chocolate.

Very old and ugly
Chocolate arrived in terrible condition. It was caked and powdery and probably very old. I’m very disappointed and would never buy again.

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!
I am doing my own Foodie Taste Test with both known & recently-tried Cocoas & Drinking Chocolates. This does not disappoint melted in a cup of Hot 1/2 & 1/2 or Whole Milk. It has an excellent depth of flavor & is thoroughly enjoyable!!
