Gar-bage!!!
Chrome plated stamped metal sharp edges that had to be dressed to avoid cutting the strings.Tee bolt with over size nut. So..that means 2 wrenches to tune the head.. huh?? The rim tooth is not deep enough to grab the rim . When torqued the entire tailpiece cage bent an deformed..junk just plain junk. Can't return since it's so buggered up. DO NOT BUY...!

Simple functional steel tailpiece
There are many inexpensive banjo tailpieces offered on Amazon in the $15-$20 range that superficially resemble US made tailpieces selling in the $50-$100 range. There are minimal specifications given but most indicate they are made of "metal", which probably indicates they are fabricated in Asia from recycled metal. The downward pressure on tailpiece is considerable and low quality metal will break under tension. This Golden Gate tailpiece is made in Japan and, as the specifications indicate, it is made of steel. It is described as a "Waverly Style" tailpiece but is not exactly the same as a Waverly tailpiece: specifically it lacks a spring to hold down the cover. The cover configuration is also different, which makes changing strings more difficult because the opening over the hooks is too small when the tailpiece is hinged back. Since the tailpiece is held together with machine screws, it is possible to remove the cover and put the tailpiece back together for a functional open pressure tailpiece without a cover (as shown in the photo). Even with these limitations, this product seems to be a reasonable choice for an inexpensive banjo.

The long screw in too long; it is made for a banjo with a larger frame or a banjo with a back.
My banjo is an open-back; the screw is too long. Please send me the smallerscrew that fits an open-back Morris banjo. I will order bracket hooks.;

Worst Product Ever
The people who make this piece of utter crap seem to think that banjo players *like* random and awful rattles from their instruments. They apparently are under the impression that we *enjoy* unfinished edges that cause strings to break before they're even tuned to pitch. But those people are wrong.I got this to use until the Oettinger tailpiece gets here from overseas. First thing I noted was that the oblong hole through which the strings pass was punched through but not finished, as was the main body itself, with the result being strings having to make two bends over very sharp edges within a quarter inch. So the first thing you need to do is take out Mister Dremel tool and finish the thing.Second thing I noticed was that there's nothing keeping the bolt to the tailpin from spinning freely as you attempt to tighten it. The bolt itself is cut away properly, but there's no stop to keep it from spinning.Third thing I noticed was that the superfluous cover piece just flaps around in the wind or, if there is no wind, rattles to beat all hell. That is because nothing holds it down and it is entirely loose. So, once you've ground the sharp edges off the string path and once you've applied a dot of superglue to keep the bolt from spinning, the tailpiece is useless and cannot be made useful without deforming the cover so as to keep it from flapping and rattling.I've seen some really crappy banjo parts over the decades, but this one takes the prize. To say it's terrible would be to insult the word terrible. Avoid this thing.

Malos acabados
La pieza viene sin pulir bien en las zonas que roza la cuerda, por tanto las rompe. El diseño hace que sea muy complicado cambiar las cuerdas. Trabajo de chinos.
