So far so good
Like others had said, I needed to get longer screws. Besides that it seems to be holding my kayak up. Feels fairly sturdy with the new screws into studs. I like that the arms fold down when not in use.

Questionable capacity
The attachment to the wall is not very strong, compared to other types of kayak racks. The screws have wall anchors provided but it is likely best to try to get at least one screw per set of plastic hinges into a wall stud and the other into the wall board with the anchors. Once they are installed, you need to be able to lift the kayak and straighten the hooks to load the kayak. This is not easy when you mount one kayak above the other and need to store the upper one, even with the lower one removed. If the boat deck does not land on the non-adjustable arms, the arms will rotate and the kayak may not stay in place. Choose a wall rack that has screws through the vertical leg so all screws can be into wall studs. The fold away feature of this rack makes it unsecure to install and difficult to use. I am not interested in swinging the racks out of the way when the kayak is down, because I am using it.

Needs longer screws
From a utility standpoint, these are working great, no issues and I like that they swing to the side when not in use.I did have issues with the installation. There were no instructions at all, so it took a minute to figure out bracket placement. Also, no guidance on how far apart to space them, so my first attempt resulted in being too far apart to accommodate my paddle due to the curve of my kayak. Getting them onto the wall was another challenge. The screws provided are only an inch or so longer than the brackets. They did not hold the wall on their own, and did not penetrate enough to grab a wall anchor. Fortunately I had some extra long decking screws and anchors around, and I would highly recommend getting some before installing. Even if you are going into a wall stud, the supplied screws are insufficient. Another pair of hands is helpful, as you have to hold the bar in place while screwing in the two part brackets, much easier with a helper. Took us a while (too long) to get the first pair up, but with experience and the right screws and anchors figured out, the second set went on in maybe 20 minutes.

Great product, but needs extra mounting support
The product and design are great. The only thing I don’t like about the design is that the hooks move and food flush against the wall. That’s great to save space and get them out of the way when not in use. But when lifting a heavy kayak, it would bump the hook and make it fold against the wall. Then I would have to put the kayak down, move the hooks back in place and try again. I repeated this until I could lift the whole kayak over the hooks without bumping them... very tough. The racks are sturdy. My kayak is about as heavy as they come and I have no concerns about the support. However, the mounting screws are a joke. There is no way something bearing that much weigh should be mounted in just drywall without studs. And the brackets are too wide to sink both screws into the stud. So you can either chose to mount one side of each bracket into a stud and the other side into drywall and pray it holds. Or do what I did and mount a 2x4 or a 1x4 on the stud first, then mount the brackets into that. See my pics for example.

difficult to mount to studs
The rack itself is fine, but the brackets to fasten each arm to the wall are plastic and the screw holes are wider than a standard stud. Luckily I was installing with exposed studs so I could add a "helper" 2x4, but if you are trying to install on top of drywall, you may not have a secure mounting. My kayaks are 50lbs and wouldn't have held up if 1 of the 2 screws was not in a stud.

Excellent for the price
Love the product for the price - my only gripe was no install directions. I am assuming that I ended up doing it correctly but would have been nice to have the 3 step process so I would have know from the beginning that 2 brackets combined would be a single bracket - really only 2 instructions needed but not knowing them caused me a pain...

Great for our kids' kayaks
We purchased two kids' kayaks last summer, as well as these storage racks. They were easy to install and they are easy to use. Everything is together on the rack and the kayaks are out of the way. We have no issues getting the kayaks onto the racks.
