Plain Design Cast Iron Fireback, Small,Black

This ain't rocket science...the only way you screw this up is getting the wrong size for your fireplace. Quality, thick construction should last longer than your house. I burn a fire every night in winter and this definitely protects the back as it was designed to do....500 years ago.

This piece is impressive in design and craftsmanship, however, it was a bit too large for my small fireplace. I did measure before purchasing, but the way the legs sit, you should add a little to the dimension to make sure it fits. It is very heavy and durable!

The piece arrived promptly but didn’t seem as thick as i thought it would be. In the thickest areas like around the edges it has built up iron but it is fairly thin anywhere else. Not warping which i guess means it’s thick enough. I don’t really notice a temp difference. It does hold heat after the fire has died which is good.

Just what I needed to throw back heat into the room from my built in Heatilator. Very well cast piece. Heavy just like I wanted.

Bought in 2021. Now in Dec 2022noticed severe crack developed and very soon will split it in half. I have to throw it out soon and have strong regrets on buying this product. It was a pure waste of money

Sturdy material heavy, and strong! it reflects heat the house making more use of a small fire.

It functions very well. But after approx. 30 fires it is already starting to warp badly. (Is cast iron supposed to warp?) At the end of the fire season I'll take it out & check just how bad it's gotten. For approx. $150 I would have expected to get at least 5 winters' use out of it. So I'm kinda' happy but also kinda' disappointed.

Absolutely love it! It truly does throw the warmth of the fire back into the room!
