The best coffee I've had in many years!

Light roast and mild flavor.
At first, this is only slightly darker than a blond roast. The beans were not oily. They were high quality and in fact. The taste is mild and smooth. I need a low acid coffee for my husband. I will be buying more of this…I need Arabica beans and these are. If you like dark, strong coffee…this is not for you. If you like mild sweet coffee…you can’t go wrong with this. The price is reasonable for organic shade grown beans…

Smooth tastin
I wanted a decaf coffee that was organic. This was the only one that showed up. I put 3 heaping tablespoons of beans in my little coffee grinder and ran it through my french press. Very smooth taste, not bitter or harsh. In fact, I think I can drink two cups of this coffee each day. High marks !!!

7 in stock…
This coffee is par excellence and we have enjoyed having it on subscription, yet this last delivery is running 10 days late with no idea when it will be shipped (they’ll let us know asap)..I saw today in our buy again list there are 7 available so I’m really hesitant to fault Mt. Whitney Coffee, some part of this supply chain has slipped. Your results may vary?

Not as fresh as promised. Roasted almost six months ago.
Do not buy large quantities of this coffee because it will already be 6 months old when you receive it. You are better off buying smaller quantities that you can use in a few days or a week because if you spend fifty dollars on coffee hoping to keep if for several months, it'll be stale and useless long before you've finished the first pound of it.The expiration date of the five pound bag I received is 3/30/2022 with a lot number of 210330xxxxxxx. It is 9/07/2021 so the coffee is already almost 6 months old and was sitting in some hot Amazon warehouse for most of that time.I can't comment on the quality because I'm reluctant to open it and find out how stale it is. The bag was puffed up when I opened the box, so the beans outgassing carbon dioxide for the last six months has probably forced out all the nitrogen they packed them with by now.

Quite A Dreamy Brew
When I opened the bag, the pungent freshly-roasted smell immediately transported me into those rare coffee bean shops that roast the beans in the store on the day you are buying them. The Mt. Whitney beans are a medium roast, and although I usually prefer a darker oily roast, the brewed coffee itself was exceptionally rich, and as deeply nuanced and well-rounded as any French Roast I've ever tasted. In short, a dream cup of coffee. Five stars.Update, a week later: My spouse told me that the cup of coffee that I reviewed above was in fact, half of the Mt. Whitney coffee beans and half of a dark French roast (caffeinated) coffee beans we had on hand. When I made coffee with the Mt. Whitney coffee beans only, it had a bit of an edge that hadn't been present in the half/half version. Still a dreamy cup, but cutting it with a darker roast was the dreamiest.

okay taste, dry beans
I've bought 2 bags of these beans several months apart and they were both the same. The beans are quite dry such that when they are ground they seem to pick up static electricity and cling to the plastic container. There are also flakes of what appear to be skins. Unfortunately I did not think of taking a photo of the grounds until after finishing the second bag.The taste of the coffee was okay (not great), but I won't buy it again.
