Great!
Very high quality light fixture. Easy to put together. Exceeded our expectations, which were high. There is nothing cheap about this lamp. Could easily be a heirloom furniture item.

Rip off! China made, not brass, no shade attachment 604 useless.
Entire lamp made in China per large print on 604's box. Not made in USA at all. Poor quality fake brass finish. But worst is lack of shade attachment for a harp or tube and completely useless. Shade was totally squashed due to lack of any packing material. Really! Do not be fooled by unrealistic photo. It does not have a golden brass finish, but a very dark one. I would not recommend this for any purpose

Impressive, but less than perfect
In appearance, this floor lamp is tall, visually impressive, and, in its way, rather magnificent. The brass--or brass plating--has a subdued glow and the shade--whose color I would call a light tan--is attractive. Functionally, the base is wide and heavy, so the lamp is stable. The swing arm works smoothly and the three-way light is effective. Assembly is pretty simple.But the quality of the lamp isn't so careful as the picture suggests and as I expected for the price. Specifically, on my sample, one of the spindles that ornaments the top of the column is flattened on two sides, when it should be round. I assume this is due to a lapse in craftsmanship on the part of the Chinese factory that made the lamp. Or could it be intentional--a little "distressing" to mimic the look of "antique" brass? Either way, I don't like this "feature" and was tempted to return the lamp for exchange because of it. However, in the end I decided to keep it. After all, my sample could be better than what would be sent in its place.Notwithstanding any flaws, overall the lamp looks very good, even though less refined than in the picture.Update 2018. After six years of daily use, this lamp still looks like new. No problems of any kind have arisen with it.
