One of the best quality bulk providers on the supp market.
Great brand and great quality l-tyrosine. Comes with a 1 g scoop also. In my opinion this bulk powder is far better than capsules. More product and l tyrosine is tasteless so why swallow gelatin. It mixes with anything well. Don’t do capsules- get the bulk powder. It’s awesome. I use for adrenal gland health, and focus.

Excellent, quality product. Best bang for the buck. My favorite supplement brand.
Awesome value, amazing quality and mixes great with water! Virtually no taste. I take about a gram once per day (yes, I know this is high) along with some 5-HTP every morning.I would not recommend taking this at night as it may cause restlessness. While I have never felt the "energy rush" of either variation of Tyrosine, I put in a two hour workout just 30 minutes after ingestion (one hour of calisthenics/weights and stretching, followed by a 1 hour 10km run). So that is probably why. I feel I am burning off that rush before it has a chance to really set in, but I do feel it certainly gives me an extra boost during my workout. On rest days, I usually do not take any supps, especially tyrosine, as on those days my daily two cups of coffee is far more than enough to put me on edge as it is :P .I constantly see the comparison being made between Tyrosine and NaLT and which is better/more effective. Honestly, having tried both from BulkSupps now and going through the entire bag (so giving it plenty of chance), I really cannot tell the difference. Despite saying NaLT requires lower doses, I was still using 1g per day with roughly the same effects. I will be sticking with standard tyrosine simply because it requires less processing by the body, but I find both supplements to be beneficial to my workout stack.

Safe Pure Amino Acid for increased energy
Safe and mild flavor; can be measured approximately, no need for a gram scale. Mild enough flavor to take with water or other liquid and melts away immediately. Take 20 minutes before other proteins, or 2 hours after. Recommend checking multiple sources for recommended upper limits to daily intake, as tolerable limits are somewhat dependent on weight of person taking supplement. Best to occasionally take a rest day or two in order to keep ongoing effectiveness. None of the ephedra-type of side effects that once were legally marketed in energy supplements. If too much is taken late in the day, it can make it more difficult to fall asleep. This company, Bulk Supplements, has very pure products at very fair prices.

Another BulkSupplements product that is high quality and affordable
Alrighty, here is the techno-babble first. L-Tyrosine is a non-essential (or possibly a conditonally-essential) amino acid can produce noradrenaline and dopamine. Using it may be an anti-stressor for acute stressors (the kind that can deplete noradrenaline). It also might be helpful with stress-induced memory deficit issues. This supplement is one of the newer, for lack of a better word, fads that are on the market for supplementation. I picked it up to add to my homemade pre-workout mix because it is purported to relieve stress from workouts and from life in general. It is also supposed to be thermogenic in nature and may improve alertness and mental concentration. All this may combine to help improve workout intensity. I chose BulkSupplements because they are high-quality and cost-effective. I have noticed an anecdotal difference in my exercise regimen, but I cannot say to what degree this supplement is responsible.

Helps with energy and alleviates depression when taken with 5-HTP
I got off antidepressants using 5-HTP and L-Tyrosine in a 1:10 ratio, per recommendation of my naturopath. This was really amazing because when I tried to taper my antidepressants without supplements, I went from feeling good to feeling some of the absolute worst depression I've experienced, and I've struggled with depression most of my life. Once I added 5-HTP and Tyrosine I was able to taper off the antidepressants with minimal side effects.5-HTP helps the body produce serotonin, while L-Tyrosine helps the body produce dopamine, which somehow balances that out. It's important to take them together because supplementing one in high levels like I am without adding in the other can create an imbalance in your brain chemicals. 5-HTP on it's own has a slightly sedating effect, so it's good to take it at night, but I take part of my dose in the morning with Tyrosine and don't have a problem.Taking the supplements in pill form was getting expensive (much more so than the antidepressants), so I decided to try BulkSupplements, which are significantly cheaper than getting them in capsules. I have no interest in trying to make my own capsules, so I just mix the powers with water and drink it fast while holding my breath. It works! Figuring out the dosage was a little tricky, but here is what I do:In the a.m. (right after I get up) I mix 1/16 tsp (approx. 100 mg) 5-HTP + 1 tsp (approx. 2000 mg) TyrosineIn the p.m. (just before I go to bed) I mix 1/8 tsp (approx. 200 mg) 5-HTP + 1 tsp (approx. 1000 mg) TyrosineI do the different dosages because Tyrosine is slightly energizing while 5-HTP is slightly sedating. I tried doing the entire dosage of Tyrosine in the morning and the entire dosage of 5-HTP at night and felt very irritable during the day. Tyrosine on it's own can help with energy and focus, but in too high of a dosage or without the balance with 5-HTP it can cause irritability or even a jittery feeling. When I reduced the dosage slightly I noticed a difference in my mood, so I know it's having a significant effect. The Tyrosine powder has a slightly bitter flavor. It's not very pleasant, but I take it so quickly that it doesn't really matter to me.I'm taking a relatively high dosage because, as I said, I'm using them to replace anti-depressants. I'd recommend talking to a naturopath about dosages and what might be right for you, and I definitely recommend taking 5-HTP with a 1:10 ratio of Tyrosine. When I asked my primary care doctor about supplements for depression, she had no idea what I was talking about, and instead put me on anti-depressants. She also recommended tapering antidepressants in a way that was incredibly harmful to me (needless to say she's no longer my doctor), so be wary of primary care doctors when it comes to this sort of thing. General physicians are well trained on a lot of things, but supplements and diet are generally not among them.If you are more of a do-it-yourself-er, then I'd highly recommend the book The Mood Cure by Julie Ross:http://www.amazon.com/Mood-Cure-4-Step-Program-Emotions--Today/dp/0142003646/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1400876462&sr=1-1&keywords=the+mood+cureIt details how to figure out what supplements you may need and how much. Overall, this is a high quality and effective supplement.
