SUNWAYFOTOMAC-14 60mm Clamp Arca/Manfrotto/Bogen Compatible/Tripod Head

I have a number of tripods with Manfrotto RC2 style heads and a mix of cameras, lenses, and accessories with a mix of RC2 clips and Arca L-plates. This clamp makes them all work together.While the Arca compatibility is obvious, it might not be totally clear how the RC2 plates fit into the MAC-14. I have attached a photo showing how the RC2 fits into a separate groove from the Arca plates. Note that some very old RC2 plates will not fit (see photos).

This product is perfection! I needed to convert my Manfrotto ball head to an ARCA type head and this did the trick perfectly! (Along with the Boss Adapter for Tripod Head Female Male/Clamp Replacement adapter.) It seems well made and should last a long time. I can now use my Peak Design strap with the anchor on the bottom of the camera, and easily mount it to my tripod (head). I'm a happy camper!

This was a great purchase for me to convert my Manfrotto BeFree tripod to mount my RRS L plates to it. The BeFree has the Manfrotto funky, slotted ballhead for their RC-2 mounting plate. The inclusion of the adaptor made it easy to convert. Although the mounting screw (M-6) was a little long (25mm) I went to my local Ace Hardware store and purchased a shorter M-6 to fit my mount. 70 cents later and everything works great. The Sunwayfoto has a nice feel to the knob and I just loosened it a little and then slid my RRS mount from horizontal to vertical with ease. The markings on the face are nice and easy to read, alignment marks are a plus. I believe this will work on anyone needing a Arca style mount, lots of adjustment of the clamp opening. Highly recommended for the price. Delivery to my house was excellent.

High quality. All of these "Arca Swiss compatible" plates seem to be slightly off in some way. I wanted to standardize and this seems to be based on the standard that most of them use (two screws used to keep the plate from falling off when loose). The quality of this thing really makes it stand out. You simply pick it up and can see and feel the strength and precision of the build. It is so much tighter and more solid than my Vanguard and Desmond plates.

Bought this clamp in order to put an ARCA-style clamp on an existing ball-head that used non-standard plates and the Sunwayfoto didn't disappoint. Fit all of the existing ARCA-styles plates I owned and I couldn't be more pleased.Smooth, well-machined, and a great value for the money.

Sometimes you just don't have the time or opportunity to re-screw the exact QR plate to the camera or the light -- that's when this thing is the thing you need. Solid, nicely made and easy to deploy. Yay.

So I guess this doesn't fit the Manfrotto XPRO ball head - mine has a notch and the prior clamp has a grooving in the bottom that goes into the notch. But this clamp is flat without any grooves so I am not sure how long this will remain or sturdy it will be. I have tried twice don't see any wiggle but worried longer term.I do have one problem and that is tigheting the knob - I have managed to tightten the knob to the point that I was not able to unscrew it back without a pliers - I am not kidding. I am not that weak that I can't unscrew it - even with the pliers I find that there is something sticky - some kinda grease that is not letting the knob turn without significant force This has happened the both of the times I have taken it out. Hopefully this is just defective product I received and not a design problem.Other than that, so far I am liking the product - seems sturdy.
