Great value, wonderful products,
So, confession time: I ordered this box without realizing it was made with WOC in mind. I'm pretty white, so I considered cancelling, but I kept my order for a few reasons. For one, WOC have had to deal with boxes not made for them since the inception of subscription boxes, so who was I to whine about it not being made just for me. Second, I really believe in supporting concepts like this, obviously the world needs more. And third, of course, I was curious - what's in the box??I have weird hair, it's thick and wavy/slightly curly, but has a second texture, a very kinky/wirey curl mixed in. These two types have a very hard time finding a pattern together. No one in my family has hair like mine, so as a kid I was on my own to figure out how to style it. I got teased a lot in school because it was so frizzy. Back in the day, before there were luxury hair and skin and cosmetic products in every major box store, products for hair like mine were hard to find. In middle school I started shopping in the "black hair" section (seriously, why is there a separate section?) and found products like Let's Jam (lol!) )worked for my texture. So that's what I used for years. Because of that I figured I would be able to use at least some of the items included. As you can tell by the 5 stars above, the products were delightful.First, I love that they came in a reusable tote instead of a box. I can always use a tote, I cannot use another box.So to get to it, THE PRODUCTS: I received. 4 Palmer's Cocoa & Biotin hair products. Shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, and glaxe serum (totaling about $25 value) No mineral oil, no silicones, they make my hair feel soft and strong and shiny and help hold it's curl pattern with no stiffness or crunch. And they smell unbelievably good. Next there was a travel atomizer of Michel Germain Paris Sexúal perfume, which I looooove (value $30).Next was a container of Specific Beauty Dark Spot Lightening skin pads that I already am obsessing over. (90 count, very generous, $60 value, seriously). Kojic acid and bearberry, the ingredients are great. Next was a really neat glass exfoliating disk. I've never seen one of these before, and I'm willing to bet they will be the next big thing. Very cool and modern concept and it left my skin baby bottom smooth. ($15 value, I believe) (edit: this evidently triggered my perioral dermatitis so I had to pass it on)Then there was the Fleur and Bee Rose and Shine Rosewater toner spritz. Delightful and all natural. ($15?)Also included was a Vitabath travel size set of shower gel and lotion. (maybe $10?) Lastly, a few lovely samples rounded the bag out.As you can see, this bag/box is easily worth $140 or more. Everything was made in the US or EU. High quality natural ingredients. Such an amazing value and I'm sure I will use every single product until they're done. Wonderful experience, thanks to the people who put this together. It really felt like it was made with love.

On Third Box and Still Enjoying It!
October 2020 Box: Since I can only update my existing review, just thought I'd mention I'm still enjoying this subscription box. There are always several items I can use and so far, it has exceeded its value. That includes both merits in cost and time because I don't have to put in the research or effort to try to find these items. I get to sample a variety of products at a fraction of the cost, too. Saves me from a big letdown if an item isn't to my liking.October is my favorite month so far, likely because it was a change of pace. Instead of the bevy of natural hair care products normally contained in the box, this month's focus was primarily on skin and self-care. I even received a black tote bag instead of the standard beige one. It'll be easier to keep this one looking clean! The following full-sized items were included in my October box: Reshma Rose Water Toner, Reshma Tumeric Face Wash, Revealu Face & Body Gold (skin moisturizing gel), Eden Bodyworks Almond Marshmallow Leave-in Conditioner, and a Hawaiian Silky Gel Activator. I am looking forward to using ALL of these products! The sample-sized items received for October were: Allsan gel hand sanitizer (the description "travel size" probably fits better than "sample size"), travel-size Solar Bloom/Rain "Reserve Blend" duo (Sephora exclusive perfumes), Kiss Colors & Care Shampoo sample pouches x 3 (interestingly, this is black herbal hair dye in the form of a shampoo), Hero Cosmetic acne blemish patches x 2 + rescue balm x 1, and Pink Walnut Tooth Powder. With the exception of the Color Change shampoo/dye, I'll definitely sample all of these to determine if I like them or not, including the scents, even though they are not my style (I lean towards lighter citrus/warm/floral notes). EDIT: Love the scents and am keeping. They do have floral and fruit notes in them. The Solar Bloom is definitely my fave of the two.Again, still loving my COCOTIQUE subscription box and although I'm only three boxes in, October is by far my favorite month. Looking forward to the next one!OLD REVIEW (Summarized):Overall, I enjoyed my first Cocotique subscription box and am looking forward to the next one. For me, I was most excited to receive the five full-sized Lotta Body Milk & Honey curly hair care products. Those items alone totaled more than the price of the subscription box. While excited over the hair care products, I actually loved the Herbacin hand creams the most. This is something I will use every day and will likely purchase a full-sized product once I run out of the samples. The face mask (the beauty kind, not the COVID-19 kind :D) and Teleties hair ties were simply viewed as complimentary items and I'll eventually get around to using/testing them out. :p Although it says this is for women of color, interestingly enough, anyone could have used most of the products in it and if you have naturally curly or coily hair, you'd receive the full benefit of the items in the box.

Repeats
Coco tique is great. I have been subscribing for two years. I have used most products or gifted ones I did not want. January, FebruaryAnd March 2024 missed the mark. It seems like the products are getting smaller and on repeat. I will wait to see what April brings.. I really want to continue subscribing! No more repeats! Thanks!

Most every product has been loved!
I have yet to find anything I do not like about the items that come in this subscription box. I love what they gibve me to try, and with natural hair I find myself getting stuck in a rut, but this box helps me find new things I would purchase for my hair. Even the skin products have been so fun to try! I love that you get full sized items and they are all good. Last month's rose water spray was a beautiful addition! It made me delve deeper into my essential oils to start making face serums using rose essential oil, which I found works wonders on my skin. I was pleasantly surprised by the suave products. I wouldn't normally buy suave in the store, but I used them and they were a nice change from what I was using. I loved the Suave Curl Defining Creme! The bags everything comes in is so handy and useful for lots of other things. I just think this is a well thought out subscription box that caters to women with natural hair and like quality skin and hair products. I'm so happy with my subscription and I can't wait until I get the next one.
