Loving the hardback after using paperback for years. More complete and comfortable for using as a desk reference.

A very useful book
I have several thesauri/synonym finders in my library, but when I need a quick search for a word I reach for the Merriam-Webster's Collgiate Thesaurus. I love how easy it is to use with its alphabetical order and the definition of the word included. Listed words not only have synonyms but also have usage examples along with, antonyms and related words. Megahelpful and reasonably priced.

Satisfying Search
Happily, content link has been implemented in this thesaurus and works in e-book form. A reference document is particularly disappointing in electronic format when a proper search function is neglected by the publisher. Someone (a copy editor) must build the hyper-links inside the digital media. Most publishers cheat and skip that part because it requires some work (and expense) above and beyond dumping the native digital format to .mobi (kindle) format. Most of the other (thesauri?) that I downloaded, tried and then returned did NOT perform a useful search for a word. Almost all claim to be searchable because the functionality of the kindle allows it to build an index based on a user input word or phrase. But that is the difference between an index (all occurrences of the word) and a table of contents (a specific location for the topic). The index approach used by almost all others can be overwhelming, sometimes dozens of occurrences of a word - without any indication of which entry is the 'location' for the expected list of synonyms.Curiously, 'parts of speech' such as: 'noun', 'verb', 'adjective', DO result in an index compilation, even in this volume. Virtually anything else will take you directly to the digital 'location' containing the synonyms, example uses, etc. A search for the word "comprehend", for example, yielded 32 synonyms and ~⅔ 'page' (8.9" kindle fire HDX, small font) of definition; adjectives and noun forms of the word each have their own separate page. I'm not a writer (Engineer... vocabulary challenged) so I can not comment reliably on the comprehensiveness of this thesaurus compared to others, but this e-book's ability to do contents SEARCH rather than INDEX seems to me to be essential - and so I recommend it! It seems to cost more than the rest; part of that is the cost of the copy editor's good work, and worth it!

It's is so helpful ☺️
I love being able to look for alternatives to words to change things up a bit. This helps. It is made well and should be around for awhile.

A magnifying glass is needed due to small font.
I purchased this Thesaurus (2nd Ed), and Dictionary (11th Ed), to replace my former “Encyclopedia of Dictionaries,” which was obviously worn after 40 years. The dictionary was shrink-wrapped. The thesaurus did not have wrapping, which, by implication, was a return, but it appears new. The dictionary has ridiculously small font. The thesaurus has slightly larger font. You will need a magnifying glass for both books. A caveat about Amazon’s apparent policy of ordering a book: I originally ordered MW’s combination Dictionary and Thesaurus, written for K-12. Five minutes later, I canceled the order; and instead ordered the above referenced, college level books. Yet, despite my repeated requests for cancellation, Amazon insists on delivering the combination book in a few days. I will return the combo book, and include a letter of dissatisfaction of Amazon’s algorithm that ignores a request for cancellation.

You can never replace the hard copy
So I am a writer, not professionally, but I do rely on the use of dictionaries and thesauri several times a week in my pursuit to becoming a full fledged author. I do have a hard copy Thesaurus of the same brand, as well as a dictionary, but being the large books that they are it is difficult to take them everywhere with me. I tend to write on the go (full time Dad, full time work, cooker and cleaner of the house, etc). Therefore the Kindle, for me, is an excellent writing companion and so I thought it would be great to try out a Kindle version Thesaurus. I did read a few reviews and settled on this version and to conclude this review without more unnecessary information, I will say that this Thesaurus is alright. I just used it this morning to try and conjure up another word for glass. I got tired of using it in the same paragraph (glass doors, glass office walls, glass everywhere). So I look it up and there's only one definition for glass, referring to the glasses a person wears, rather than glass like glass pane or what have you. I look up glass in the dictionary's that come with the Kindle and find five different definitions. This tells me that whoever put this Thesaurus on the market did so in a manner inconsistent with the quality I expect from the Merriam-Webster brand. Certainly if I were to grab the hard copy of the same Thesaurus from a book shelf I would find several other definitions for the same word. Personally I think this product is a bit sloppy and is another example of why the American economy is in a slump, but I'm sure most of you would think that's stretching things a bit. Anyway, take it for what you will this product is certainly not worth the eight bucks, but it's better than nothing.

No search feature, useless, waste of money
I thought than even without search feature maybe it would be handy, but I was wrong completely. Its impossible to find a word fast,

Excellent , Hyperlinked and Swappable etc etc
On my Paper White , I can move between the Thesaurus and Dictionary without leaving the popup window . At the bottom of the pop up definition window is an arrow to dictionary selection . This takes us to choices of dictionaries or this thesaurus by selecting a new reference book and I can select back to dictionary in the same popup .Unfortunately no link to the thesaurus to open the book .Also Main Word Categories within the Thesaurus is hyperlinked within the word were examining .I have tried the Collins thesaurus +dictionary , didn't like the layout script too large . and the American Roget's Thesaurus ,but it is neither hyperlinked or swappable , though the layout is good . Still this M & W also has a much better range of synonyms and antonyms along with a very brief definition of the word and layout is excellent .Incredibly its taken quite some time to local a usable thesaurus .
