Marsha Greenberg's second edition of HANKIE COUTURE is better than ever. If you have several drawers full of vintage hankies like I do, here's what to do with them. This new book has page after page of beautiful color images of fashion designs for our favorite dolls created from vintage hankies. This is great inspiration for those who like to sew for their fashion dolls. The inspiration not only comes from the stylish photos, but from words of wisdom as well. So even if you don't sew, this is a lovely book just to read through say a page a day for an uplifting message. But for the serious doll designer, there are more new pattern suggestions on how to form your hankies into unique dresses and gowns for your dolls, And new this time are pattern ideas for appliqueing hankies onto coats. So after you've day dreamed your way through the delightful pages of fashions and phrases, you'll find several sewing patterns at the back of the book. Included are Big Collar Dress, a Color-Blocked Dress, a Sweetheart Dress, a Scalloped-Edge Greatcoat, and an Embroidered Apron. In addition are patterns for purses and hats. Many new styles now incorporate coordinating fabrics that will expand the looks which complement the hankie. This time there are complete patterns ready to trace and sew with full step by step instructions and cutting illustrations, so even novice sewers can make a pretty outfit for their doll. By mixing and matching the pattern pieces and the many styling ideas shown in the book, you can make and almost endless wardrobe of hankie fashions, each one as different and unique as the hankies they are sewn from.

The book gives great ideas and nice patterns to make the dresses. I have already worth my investment in these ideas and helped me pick hankies for my patterns.

This book makes you want to get busy and sew some really cool Barbie clothes! Truly one of a kind creations. Wish I could have these in my size!

It has patterns in it, which I like.

if you are buying for the pictures it is ok, but if you are buying for patterns to make dresses in book this is not for you. there are only a few patterns not all dresses shown has a pattern or instructions to help you make it.

I like the book. It has great ideas, and pictures. The only problem I have with it is that you can't use the patterns in the kindle book.Most other books with patterns have PDF,s so you can print out the patterns. I hope that maybe they will include them in the future.

It's a nice book with lots of ideas and tips and it should have 5 stars, but it's only a half book, the first half is just pictures of dresses, nice pictures but not so useful, it's not until you get to the second half of the book you find anything of use, but it's still a good book.
