Speedball Quattro Artist Sketch Journal 8-1/2 x 12

I've become a bit of a notepad/graph paper addict as of late, always looking for a the perfect tablet or notebook, with (mostly) success but also some failure. I have to say, this pad is definitely one I'd consider a success. The gridlines are well defined but not so bold as to interrupt your drawing, the paper is of excellent quality, and the binding is strong and clean. I'd honestly rate this higher than the moleskine or field note books I've purchased. The only thing I'd like to see different is a binding on the long edge, instead of across the top. Just my personal preference, and what is holding this back (in my review at least) from a 5 star.

I love this paper.People complain about bleeding ink due to thin pages. I have no idea what they’re talking about. I don’t have that issue at all.The paper is thin but ink doesn’t bleed through. I haven’t experienced any feathering.I wish the binding was different at the top but that’s personal preference.

I do a lot of website and mobile app design work and I really needed a grid pad to sketch all of my ideas into. So far, this pad is my favorite and is much better than the rest I've tried. The paper is high quality, the pad cover folds back completely and doesn't cause it to be lopsided when drawing and the grid is well done and fun to work with. The only reason I took off a star is that it's priced a bit higher than I would like.

Great notebook for sketching out designs for webpages and mockups for UI design. I love the ability to tear out the paper in a nice fashion, as the perforations are amazing. The book also holds up fairly well for being so large. The paper is thick enough so bleeding only typically happens if you mark something several times over with sharpie.

Nice paper and good to write and draw on. The nicest is the paper quality. It's very durable, silky-smooth, and providing a wonderful pen-paper match and touch.

I love this pad. The cover is very tough and sturdy, which is a very good thing because I am not exactly the most gentle with my books. The pad itself has withstood falls, tumbles, spilt liquids, and lots of rough handling, and is still in good shape like a good book. The tooth of the paper is excellent. It can take alcohol-based markers really well and just feels good to write on with pen, pencil, and inking nibs. Each sheet of paper has a grid on one side and is blank on the other side, so if you want double-sided gridded sheets, this pad may not be for you. My only two small complaints is that I wish the grids were printed so that they touch the edges of the paper. The other is that if you are not careful, the spine will lift up from the paper exposing where the papers are stapled together. I just place a medium paper clip on the top middle part to keep it down, because it is still a very good grid pad. I will be acquiring more of these nifty pads in the future.
