this unit is compact and works great. the 8" fan I wasn't sure of, but once I used it on its first job I was amazed at its performance. I have a bathroom remodel business and there are times that there is no window in the room to vent the dust. with the flex hose and the fan I can move the dirt and dust through a window in another room. either in a positive or and negative position. The fan noise is a tad loud but it isn't a problem for the workers or the homeowner

Read the reviews before you buy certain products, because this ventilation fan is GARBAGE. I was sanding in a close off bathroom and had this vent fan running to reduced the dust and when I was finished sanding and left the bathroom there was 1/2 inch thick dust EVERYWHERE. Had to hire a cleaner to clean the whole place which cost $300! I wish I could get my money back but I had the vent for 2 months before I even used it. TRASH TRASH TRASH! And cost me money and a customer. Zero Stars

This is a heavy duty built product, very easy to use and it ventilates extremely well for its size. I would recommend this to other contractors.
