"East of Eden" stands out as one of the finest novels I've ever encountered. For the uninitiated, it delves into the intertwined lives of the Trask and Hamilton families across multiple generations, skillfully crafted by John Steinbeck. Despite its considerable length, once you delve into the narrative, it's nearly impossible to tear yourself away, with characters that leap off the page with complexity and depth. Steinbeck's exploration of their psyches offers profound insights into their motivations, with figures like Sam and Cathy embodying the extremes of good and evil, while others like Adam, Tom, and Charles grapple with moral ambiguity. East of eden is one of those books where you can open to any page & start reading it & appreciate the effort put behind it.John steinbeck makes every single element in this book stand out, the characters, the place, the weather, the animals everything in this book has so much heart in it, it gets overwhelming at times. The underlying themes & philosophies are so human. Steinbeck dissects everything from a man's greed to love, malice, innocence & pure evil with careful precision of a surgeon & lays it out in a layman's tongue to soak it all in. This book is not just about the stories of 2 families living in a valley but it talks about what it is to be alive, being a part of family & the ties that bounds a family together. In a microcosm of 2 families Steinbeck explores life itself.Cathy seems to be the one character that is hard to get out of your head, among the myriad of characters that are fascinating. The shades of black in her character is unparalleled & the things that steinbeck lets you peek once you look into the abyss of her mind is a work of genius.Amidst the Hamiltons & Trasks you will be lost in Salinas valley & learing more about life that you ever will, the book has friends to offer, enemies to be afraid of, teachers you wish you had, love that is powerful & malice that is unforgiving.All I wish is that I knew of this book when I was young before I picked up Atlas shrugged that is, the direction that it offers to its reader is one that every person should walk, it may not lead one to a garden but it will sure let you be familiar with your personal eden.

I had given the choice of writing the review after so many months, because I thought they had removed the link. And like most of them I didn't receive the bookmark and I had to use the old one.The author had given us immense knowledge about the way Salinas and it's surroundings looked. Cathy (a) Kate is the name you will never forget and be doomed for knowing her and her demerits.It's may look kind of disdain on how the author took control of the story since it is fictional, gloomy but thoughtful.This is a kind of book for who ought to be valors because of the composition it has, the comprehensive looping of two families is different.Finally Justifying the wrongs done by the characters reminds the real world scenario and makes us to look back.Filthy or Virtue it deals only with these things. A Better becomes best and a worse turns hell.A classic fictional as it should be!!

The person who'll be using it is happier than me. Only thing that intrigues me is why the lid is not fitting/seating on the rim of the kadai, as I see some of your earlier customers have complained in their comments. If I think it negatively then it's a defect in manufacture or else, if I take it positively that as there is no whole in the lid there may be some danger while it's hot in cooking by vacuum and so it is designed to have some gap between the lid and the body of the kadai. Please clarify this doubt with your logical explanation. If it's a manufacturing defect then I'll ask for a replacement immediately.

This is an iconic novel by Steinbeck. Keeping in mind the biblical story of Cain and Abel he structured the storyline in a modern American setting and did it with his usual mastery. This is hailed by a number of critics as "the" American novel and that is pretty much accurate. Set in Salinas valley of California this novel tries to explore various human psyche by telling a family's history. Read this amazing novel, folks.

The media could not be loaded. This cover is just so pretty, I'm obsessed. I've only heard good things about this book and am very excited to finally get my hands on this beautiful edition. It has over 720 pages. I read the first few pages and I can already say that it's going to be a ride that I'm happily willing to take.

Teniendo en cuenta la época en la que se escribió y por tanto ciertas opiniones ya no tan aceptadas, este libro es una gran lectura para la gente que guste de novelas del pasado, en particular de la California de fines del XIX e inicios del XX. Una gran y detallada narrativa, amena e incluso ilustrativa de una sociedad muy plural en su conformación, más de lo que aparenta.

Have not yet read it, so I can't comment on the actual text, but the book itself came damaged. The cover was bent in half and the backside of the book looked like it had been wet. I'm not very happy with the condition it arrived in

This is the 5th Steinbeck book that I've read and probably the best so far, full of amazing, deep, troubled and compelling characters, each one with inner demons and the seed of good, since this is the tale of the oldest traits of human kind: evil and virtue; praise for this book, a truly masterpiece
