Ponto de Encontro: Portuguese as a World Language 2nd Edition

It is a very complete textbook for learning European and Brazilian Portuguese. There are a great variety of texts for reading comprehension. This is what I really need as a student and as a teacher.

This book is helpful in understanding the Portuguese language. It explains the grammar point and key parts to understanding the differences between Brazil's and Portugal's spoken Portuguese. There are advanced-level text that provides general descriptions of various regions in both countries. It is an excellent book to bridge the way the language has evolved from the old to modern. The resources provided by the publishers allow learners access to audio files that accompany the text found in the book. It is a great book for high school to graduate level Portuguese classes. Middle school classes might do well with this book pending how well students grasped the concept of grammar structures and technical grammar terms of the English language.

One of my best buys in 2023! I've been wanting to purchase a book on European Portuguese, but most of my books are Brazilian. This book covers both at the same time, what a true find. Also, as an 81 yr. old man, money was a concern. This seller offered a "good" edition for about $36. I figured, oh well, you saved almost $100 off list price, so expect markings and underlining's. I was wrong again. This book is perfect, not one marking whatsoever. To the seller, I truly thank you sincerely. Get this book, what a gem at whatever your price range is. The format is exemplary. And in a year, off to Portugal.

Slightly more roughed up for a "used" book but still met the need. I don't fault the seller as they have to decide in a split-second.

The package was shipped the following day--as told in the description--as as advertised--as like new, and is was like new--the price wasn't bad either for a textbook; all-in-all it as as described, came in 3 days, no issues or problems. The other thing to note: this was my first time buying from this seller, so I cant' truly speak to issues/problems, but I would buy from this seller again

I love this textbook! It is well layed out and makes it easy to immerse yourself in Portuguese (Brazil or Portugal...you choose) language. The textbook includes a lot of content for one book! Most Spanish textbooks are separated into Spanish 1, 2, 3 and include extra pages that I never used. This Portuguese textbook includes all tenses and each page is useful.I had to get the workbook that goes with this for my college class, but if you are teaching yourself, there is no need for the workbook unless you want lots of extra practice. Also, the activities are geared toward college students.

Item was stated to be like new but is far from it. It has water damage, torn pages, writing inside of it, it's covered in stickers and the spine is ruined. However, the actual content of the book is great.

I am renting this book. Just made it today and decided to take pictures right away.
