COVERGIRLSo Saturated Shadow Palettes, Reverence, 0.22 Ounce

I've been looking for a deep purple eyeshadow to replace the one I use for eyeliner. I'm a big fan of Covergirl, they're LeapingBunny approved which means proof they don't test on animals, they make great products for the price range, and they are a big player in the game of equality. Unfortunately, though this product works wonderfully, it came with the purple square absolutely destroyed.I saw this was happening to quite a few people but - because I like Covergirl so much - and because I'm frugal - I still ordered this instead of the $14 single plum shadow from PureZiva that I will now purchase. If any of the other three colors had been destroyed I wouldn't have cared, just poor luck.Anyway, if I were you I wouldn't buy any of these palettes from this vendor.

This is the second time I have this product and it arrived in the same conditions.

It came broke not only once but 2nd time also i try to get it replace again they just wanted the broken product back and not replace it I wanted the product not the money back . .

Arrived with one of the colors broken and powder all over the place. Sent me a second one to replace and same problem.

One of the few palettes I have purchased where I can actually use almost all of the colors. My only complaint is that it only comes with one applicator. A second one would be nice as they degrade pretty quickly. Especially if you clean them often

Before I talk about my experience, I have two small quibbles with this eyeshadow, that caused me to take off a star. Firstly, it’s not mentioned here in the listing, but Covergirl actually designed their Spectrum line for POC (people of colour). What does that mean? Well, for someone with super pale skin, like me, it’s probably not the best option! It’s better suited to those with darker skin and I think these colours would look particularly stunning on dark skin (think Lupita Nyong’o, who has lovely dark skin).Second, the palette is in no way as bright as shown here, which is actually pretty disappointing if you bought it based on the picture. These colours are not really possible, even under a very bright light. If you shine a bright light on these colours, it’s possible to get something somewhat close to the colours shown here, but they were also edited to be more saturated in this product photo. As a result, the colours you get in the palette pop a lot less and are less bright. They are lovely colours, but it feels a bit misleading.I personally really love the shimmery colours in this palette. They say it’s not flattering to wear glitter after a certain age, but I say a life empty of fun and glitter, is a life not worth living! When it comes to fashion, flattering isn’t one of my worries. I want to express myself, show my creativity and have fun, for me there is no other point to makeup. If you do have dark skin, there are some lovely neutrals here, alongside the punchier shimmer colours.I was surprised and impressed at how strongly pigmented these colours are. Usually drug store brands are very weak in pigment. Look at the photo of my arm swatches, that is one light stroke of colour, not rubbing it again and again to get a nice swatch. The colour is nice and strong. Pro tip: Wet your brush lightly (not too much) to make the eyeshadow stick better and give you a stronger colour. I did find the eyeshadow a bit crumbly, but given the price, I was happy with it.My two personal faves out of these, were the bright gold shimmer and the pink shimmer as I felt these complimented my skintone and many of the ‘nude’ neutrals were a bit dark for me.Overall, I was impressed by this palette and it’s strong pigment. It’s really designed for darker skin, so if you do have a darker skintone, this could be a good buy for you. However, make sure you are aware of the true colours (see my photos) as in some places the product photo is misleading.

Very beautiful palette for a "drug store" kind of brand. The picture (on my screen at least) has the colours looking more neutral/potentially more cool-toned, but the palette in real life I find to be more warm-toned and also darker.From what I see, there looks to be only 2 matte shades (the first and third colour going left to right) while the rest are either shimmery or very glittery. The picture here also appears to be brighter, but the palette in real life is definitely more saturated and darker. Keep this in mind if you are purchasing for yourself or as a gift, since those who prefer more of a matte palette will not be able to enjoy this product to its full potential.The colours are also very pigmented - the chemistry in makeup has advanced pretty far nowadays that most drugstore brands now perform just as well as more 'luxury' brands, so you don't have to worry too much about patchiness or streaks. I use a brush to apply the eyeshadow, but I find my fingers worked just as well.Overall the palette is a beautiful set of colours that can be enjoyed by most and very pigmented and a good price. The cheaper price most likely reflects the cheaper packaging - usually this type of plastic is the first to break on me if I accidentally drop it.

I'm very impressed by this eyeshadow palette. It is a very usable combo of matte and sparkle shades that look great together in just about any combination. The lightest shade works well as a highlight or an all-over shade, and the other colours can be used for sparkling metallic looks, for beautiful smokey eyes, or even a simple everyday look.The eyeshadow is easy to apply and feels very creamy on the skin. I found that if I used good brushes (not the applicator that is included) there was very little fallout. However, regardless of the method I used, I found blending to be a bit lacklustre.Taking into account that this is drug-store eyeshadow and not a luxury brand, I have to say I'm very impressed. The colours are nice and deep, and it is easy to build the sparkle shades up for a light dusting to something very dramatic. For the best results I do suggest you use an eyeshadow primer.The pans are surprising deep, so you get a lot of bang for your buck.

This loses one star from me because the colours that are depicted here are definitely not the ones that arrived. The colours in the picture are much brighter than the ones in the actual palette.That being said, the colours were nice and neutral. The shadow itself is strongly pigmented, meaning that for me I had to make sure that I used a light hand when applying. The neutral colours were nice and the shimmered shades perfect for holiday gatherings.I like this palette although it isn't going to be the one that I use for an everyday look. I will be far more likely to use this for special occasion gatherings, such as the upcoming Holiday parties that I will be going to. I also swapped out the included brush for one from my own collection for a much better overall application.
