Works with windows 11
Works great and is supported by windows 11. I had an older cable that had a chip that was not supported under windows 11, making it worthless to me. This cable is support and will use Chirp to program your radio without any issues. Great way to program your TYT 9800 and a great price.

Very easy for me to use on MAC
Worked with Apple Mac and Chirp - much easier than dealing with drivers issues re: my Baofeng radios but that maybe because I DL'd so many drivers to get the Baofeng to work with MAC (which ultimately I was able to do). In any case, I found TYT much easier to work with on Chirp (one tip though, I had to guess the USB port information based on google searches which for me is listed as /dev/cu.usbserial. Also, after connection, there is no TYT option so DL from the radio and it opens a new file in the TYT format which you can edit and re-upload to the radio. I got the warning that the software is BETA for TYT but it worked fine for me...

Drivers right; Cable Works; Drivers wrong; No joy.
Seems to work ok once you get the correct drivers. You actually have to install an older driver, even though your computer wizard will tell you that you already have the best drivers for your device. It did not work with my Windows 8 ,and I found the software that came with it to be almost useless. Thanks to the earlier reviewer that gave the following website to go to. The instructions there are understandable. The cable comes with a v3.6 driver, and this website will tell you how to roll it back to a v3.2. Good luck. This has worked without a hitch with my TYT-9800 radio, and the RT Systems programming software. Zero issues, can't do much better than that.

Replaces the original one I lost
I ran my TYT 9800 radio in my car until the pandemic hit and the relocated the radio to my office. When I needed to update a few frequencies and could not locate the cable that I tucked away with an old XP laptop I kept just for programming radios, I needed another cable. This replacement was cost effective and worked without issue programming the radio from a Windows 11 host.
