total surprise
my kids bought me one of the for my birthday--skeptical as to how accurate it was. Shocked--works great ---gives you the amount of gas left in the tank by % as well as how much time you have leftwould buy again

Horribly inaccurate - may also have fees!
I was hoping this would work to monitor a fireplace propane tank more easily but I am disappointed almost immediately.First, its unclear if there is an additional fee for the app or not - the directions in the box say anything more than 20lb requires a fee (HUH?!) to weigh. But in the app, it says its "included". So which is it? Bit nervous it will stop working. Now for some accuracy tests:I've got 3x 40lb tanks and 2x 20lb tanks for a fireplace and portable generator. Having just had a couple of them filled up this week and one slightly used I was excited to see how this compares to the "put it on a bathroom scale and subtract the tare-weight" method which seems extremely accurate....and I am very sorry to say this seems to be a waste of money.I'll attach a picture with my table that shows the full breakdown but suffice to say the Flame King seems to read about 22-25% low on all but one tank (which reads 11% lower than actual) if I compute a % of the rated capacity using a real scale. When you multiply the percent by the capacity to get Flame Kings estimate of pounds fuel, that value is about 9-10lb low for the 40lb tanks and 2-5lb low for the 20lb tanks.I suppose one could argue that its better to under-estimate how much fuel is remaining but that would mean you are getting ready to disconnect a tank that is nearly 1/4 full in the case of my 40lb tanks! And if your goal is to do tank swaps vs refilling (where you already get less full) you're throwing away a LOT of usable fuel that way!I guess I'll go back to the tried true reliable way I have been, using a bathroom or luggage scale to measure the weight of the tank, reading the TW empty rating off the tank neck, and subtracting to determine available fuel. Its proven exceptionally reliable so far.

Propane gas gauge
Works fine but batteries don’t last very long if you leave it on they recommend turning it off but I didn’t

Easiest way to track remaining propane
This fit perfectly in the tank well of my Broil King Signet 320. It makes measuring remaining LP super easy, just turn it on, bring up the app, and within a few seconds you have your remaining propane amount. My only dislike is that the power switch is on the bottom and not easy to get to. I addressed this by drilling a 1" hole in the tank well with a spade bit, so I can just reach under the grill, switch it on, get my LP level, and switch it off. Seems like there should be an easier way to toggle the power, though.I live in South Louisiana, so I hope it holds up well in the heat and humidity. Will try to remember to report back after a few weeks.

App is garbage, wouldn't connect to scale
The app would not connect after repeated attempts, it said to turn on Bluetooth - even though the phone's Bluetooth was already on.Additionally, the app states that location is required to function, exactly why and how does my location affect the scale's ability to weigh a propane tank! Also the packaging states that to use it on a 30# or 40# tanks you must make an in app purchase. I was never able to get that far but that is also ridiculous to require an extra fee to weigh anything but a 20# for free! Bought 2 scales, both are going back immediately.I was really hoping this would work despite poor reviews. I was willing to overlook some glaring errors, power switch on bottom, lack of a tare function and overall shoddy quality but to not function at all is not something that I can overlook. It's just a scale, a 3 digit display on the scale showing the weight is all that's needed, requiring an app to read a scale is silly!

All tanks are NOT equal as far as tare weight!
I really like this product, but think there should be some more thought into the design, which would absolutely increase the accuracy. First of all, every propane tank has a stamp into the metal which shows its empty "tare weight". Every tank is NOT equal. I just exchanged two tanks which weighed 18.2 lbs. and 18.6 lbs. respectively. I received two tanks which were 16.6 lbs. and 17.9 lbs. Now to the problem. The scale assumes an empty weight, (I guess?) and makes its estimation by that. So, the 18.6 lbs. tank was in my grill. The scale told me I had approximately 15% propane left, which should have lasted something like 2 hours. (I don't remember the exact amounts, only that I knew I should be able to cook my ribeye easily within the time frame.) About 2 minutes into the cook, poof, tank was empty. I weighed the empty tank, and the marked tare weight was dead on. (Yes, I finished the steak in the oven.) The most critical points I could make is that 1) You should be able to tell the app how much the tare weight is by entering it. That way, the exact weight it would read would be the actual weight of the liquid inside, thus giving a much better estimation. 2) PLEASE put the switch and battery compartment on the side of the scale so you don't have to remove the tank to turn it on or change batteries.I use three tanks... one for the grill, one for a fire pit, and one for a vertical space heater. I understand these burn propane at different rates, and I have three scales, one for each. However, a more accurate measurement of the liquid weight would be great. I hate having to switch them out in the middle of a cook or a heating period. Otherwise, I love these scales!

Wait for v2
Terrible design. Someone was working all alone from home and didn’t have anyone else QA/QC the design plan before it was sent to China to tool for production. The ON/OFF button is on THE BOTTOM!You literally have to pick up the tank each time, pull the scale ring out, turn it off, then reverse the process.DO NOT buy till V2.
