The Witch [4K UHD] [Blu-ray]

For some reason I’ve had great luck with buying movies on Amazon. I always get a mint slipcover, even on older releases like this, and nothing is ever damaged, even though it’s minimally packaged. I’m not going to write a movie review here, because it would take way too long. It’s one of my favorite movies for many reasons. One of those reasons is black Phillip, the goat on the cover. Anyway, for $15 I’m really happy with this purchase. Comes with 4k disc, blu ray, and a digital code. Picture quality is excellent, but it’s a very dark movie. If you have an OLED, this will look amazing. If not, you’re probably going to see some crush and you may have trouble making out details in certain shots. Even if that is the case, you’ll love this movie if you are into psychological horror and/or occult movies. If you want action and gore, go elsewhere. This movie is for adults who can pay attention to storytelling without needing jump scares and mindless violence to keep their attention.

The movie is excellent in my opinion. It's very slow, and a lot of the time it's closer to a period drama than it is to a horror movie, but the oppressive atmosphere is unparalleled in this film. Shockingly well shot film for a first time filmmaker, and all around well acted, even by the child actors.This is also the first 4k uhd blu ray I have owned, and oh boy, it looks fantastic. Even on my 42" TV, the difference between this and a regular blu ray is super noticeable, it's less grainy, and the colors are better thanks to the hdr. Highly recommend both the film and the format for recent, good looking movies like this one.

Slow mental jabs. Not the typical 1000mph blood and guts/jump up and yell film. Some will complain but sometimes we need a horror film that makes the viewer think instead of just sitting and drooling with mindless ghost stories or possessions ad-nausea. Well done period piece. Recommended for fans of the deep, provoking genre'.

You’re here because you’ve seen the movie, let’s be real. It’s an upscaled 4k version of the 2k footage. Movie is a banger, quality is amazing, and Robert Eggars is now one of my favorite directors in the biz.

Historical fiction based on real criminal trials, private journals, and oral stories of the time and place... smashed all together into one story. The disc played and it arrived without damage.

The period dialog forced me to turn of the subtitles. I would have been lost if I saw this in theaters (and probably angry about it too). The small children were irritating (as small children usually are), but other than that the acting is top notch. No real complaints about this film. It is one of the best I've seen for a while.
