There’s a lot in this set. In total there are 15 experiments although experiments vary from volcanic eruptions to a maze on a card so some are more involved and better than others. My kids made a YouTube video of them using this set which I hope to add to this review in the future. We did the two volcanic eruptions (this is where citric acid, bicarbonate of soda and water, and red food colouring to make the mixture lava coloured, are mixed to make an eruption, one eruption by dropping the stuff in at the top and one by pumping it in from the bottom using a syringe). We did the dinosaur fossil excavation (which is standard fare for these types of dinosaur-related sets) and a couple of experiments where we placed transparent plates onto a map of the world to show where in the world active volcanoes are, also taking into consideration where they are in relation to the tectonic plate boundaries, and also to show where different dinosaur fossils have been found. Experiments we haven’t done yet include making a lava lamp, a seismograph, a geyser and more. We had fun doing these experiments. The volcanic eruptions were fun to do using the plastic volcano enclosed in the set. There is also plenty of citric acid and bicarbonate of soda and food colouring left afterwards so the eruptions can be repeated and repeated. The digging up a dinosaur fossil was also fun because it was very messy which kids love (recommend doing this one outside where the excavated chalk/plaster can also be used for drawing on the floor). This excavation revealed parts of a dinosaur skeleton which all fitted together to make one mini-skeleton which was fun. As well as being fun the set is educational. It teaches science (with chemical reactions), history (dinosaurs) and geography (about volcanoes). So there is a lot to commend this set for. I think it is worth 5-stars.

This set is a great summer activity with children. My two, 5 and 8 years, had a blast doing the activities with me. Their favourite was uncovering pretend dinosaur bones in a block of clay, mimicking an archaeological excavation. They also enjoyed creating a volcano and a lava lamp. It is loads of fun and they learned something about chemistry, volcanos amd inosaurs in the process.

Excellent product for the young inquisitive mind. Lots of experiments to be done which makes learning fun. My son absolutely loves this as he has always had a love of history and the natural world. Any product which can help children want to learn will always be a good thing.

I would have preferred an 80s style photograph of a father and daughter enjoying the innocent pleasures of this game on the box but the bland illustration aside you can't really go wrong with this. It's hands on, textual and arty at the same time with a European languages lesson thrown in so it pretty much covers the basic personality types and sets your child up for the path to eventual GCSE. It's also safe as houses with nothing inside the box that will genuinely explode in your face. The experiment sheets are the business.

This is really good quality and easy to set up. My nearly 8 year old loves it and has really given him an enthusiasm for science. It has saved this rainy summer holiday week!!

Firstly the product is of tough and serviceable materials and obviously been designed for the hard wear you'd expect in the concept. The volcano even though of basic material and recommended for an 8 year should be used with adult supervision to ensure the instructions are followed and the right results are achieved. Since there are several types of activities here there is a lot of fun to be had. For me the favourite is the palaeontology, involving the 'extraction' of a dinosaur fossil from the 'ground' and its subsequent assembly. This requires some patience and a methodical approach and would serve as an ideal entertaining teaching tool for a child. Very good value for a reasonable price

My product arrived today completely unpackaged, Amazon had simply slapped my address label on the original box, which started to take off the cover design as I peeled the label off. The cover design is scored and all the corners are bashed. To cap it all, powder is spuing out of it. I have never had an issue with Amazon before

El mejor día!! Palabra de niño de 5 años, se pone su bata de cientifico, excava el dinosaurio, mira y descubre el mapa donde están los volcanes, y a experimentar. El volcan es el experimento estrella, la primera vez le ayudas un poco, las otras 5 seguidas el mismo día ya lo puede hacer con tu supervision, jehje. Trae varios experimentos entretenidos, si le gustan los volcanes y dinosaurios, es perfecto. Y puedes hacerlos tantas veces como quieras, trae bastante bicarbonato y ácido cítrico (cuidado con los ojos, es irritante). Pone a partir de 8, pero en mi opinión si le gusta y le inquieta estas cosas, a partir de 5 es perfecto, siempre con alguien que le explique y controle.

Assolutamente consigliato. I miei bambini di 5 e 4 anni lo hanno apprezzato molto ( gli esperimenti con il vulcano li abbiamo eseguiti noi, ma ne sono rimasti entusiasti comunque ! ).

Fantastic hands-on activity kit for kids who love science and prehistoric creatures. My child really loves it. She is not particularly interested in science but she likes volcanoes, planets, rocks etc and this kit is perfect for her. The set includes everything needed to create erupting volcanoes, making it both fun and educational.
