My golden has a fancy slicker brush, a furminator, and 3 other brushes depending on what he needs. This one does a good job of getting to the undercoat and detangling as you stroke. Priced high but with this, a slicker brush and furminator I’m all set

Our dog sheds and has long black hair. After we brought him home, we started to find small clumps of black hair all over the house which required vacuuming about every other day. Started to brush him more often with a standard pin dog brush, and he would allow brushing for about 5 minutes, then decide that was enough and the pin brush never removed much hair. We were surprise that a 17 lb. little dog could shed so much. When I saw the LUMO Grooming Tool and watched their videos on their website, it was something I had to try. At first, he wasn't sure about the tool and actually ran away from me the first time I tried to use it. But slowly & gradually he adapted to our nightly brushing routine (about every-other-evening), AND when I get the LUMO Brush out he come running to be brushed. I'm usually shocked how much hair is removed when I just brushed him two nights ago!!This grooming tool has been very well thought out, and there are many features worth the cost! The handle has a no-slip coating and is comfortable to hold while brushing, each metal bristle is rounded at the tip so it doesn't poke, scratch or tickle, a release lever places hair into the trash can, and my favorite feature is the narrowed tip that gets behind his ears and removes the tangles and matts that cause him to scratch and itch. He also gets bad matts behind his back legs that he would never allow me to try and detangle with a regular dog brush, but he does let me brush with the LUMO and it has really reduced him biting that area because he can't scratch back there.My dog is 1.5 years old and while he does have "long hair" I ordered the LUMO Orange for Short Hair because he is still a puppy. It works well right not, but as my little guy gets older, he will get A LOT more fur and his main under his chin will become very thick (something specific to Tibetan Spaniels), and I can see us ordering a LUMO for Long Hair soon. Prior to the covid-19 pandemic we were in puppy group classes with Sally Said So Dog Trainers (fabulous dog trainers), and many of the other dog parents asked me what I fed him because his coat was so beautiful and shiny. He eats Fromm dry food with 4 pieces of Stella & Chewy raw topper, and he is brushed every-other-nigh with the LUMO!This is such an exceptional grooming brush I've started giving it as a gift to friends getting a new dog and to long time dog owners. All have had good things to say! I gave the LUMO Yellow for Long Hair as a gift to my sister who has a very large 110 lb. Yellow Lab. Her dog is a "big girl" and I thought the long hair tool would work well, and it works wonders! My sister's Yellow Lab loves to be brushed so much, she leans with all her weight into the brush because it feels so good, and even with short hair her coat is thick and The LUMO removes a tremendous amount that would end up on the floor.If you've read this long review, it is appreciated, and IF you are in the market for a FABULOUS Grooming Tool give LUMO a try and support a small business during this difficult covid-19 pandemic!Mary P.Raleigh, NC

I've used this brush on my older GSD for over a month now. I wasn't expecting the brush to be a heavy metal, and I'm very cautious about going over less meatier parts of his body.It's great to brush out his dual coats, but one thing I don't understand is why not extend the lever that pushes the fur out to the very bottom row? It stops at the 3rd row, and the 4th &5th rows you still have to dig the fur out of the brush. That kind of defeats the purpose of it being easy to clean. Maybe the shorter haired breeds don't have this issue?Also - unexpected benefit - my short haired cat loves to be brushed by it as well (body only, no head).So like any other product, try it for yourself, and form your own opinion. It might be great, or not, you decide!

The media could not be loaded.  For MANY years I've been using a variety of brushes - bristle brushes, slicker / pin brushes, gloves, even a few de-shedding tools like the Furminator. The Lumo Ridgeback is by far the best of the bunch for many reasons and I'm glad I discovered it looking for something new recently, after a few not so fun attempts to brush my dog.The design of the brush itself is outstanding Unlike a lot of other products I've used, it is incredibly sturdy and really comfortable to hold and use for several minutes. They obviously spent a lot of time shaping the brush and sizing the handle - very ergonomic. I also noticed that the "tines" are sturdy / rigid yet have dull tips unlike the pin brushes that bend, break, and hurt like heck (for humans and pets).Beyond the look and feel, the Lumo works extremely well. I definitely suggest using short / quick strokes and you can also be pretty firm while still being gentle on your pet. My current dog has always been a little skittish with being brushed, in particular with the sharp pin brushes. Definitely not the case with this tool. She sees the brush and lays down to enjoy with no fear of getting stuck or pinched. She even rolls over to be brushed on her belly which would never have happened with any prior brush. My cat even likes it.It does a nice job accumulating the fur and packing it in. With a lot of the slicker or bristle brushes, I usually found that I would need to clear out the fur quite frequently but not with the Ridgeback (I have the Short Hair model for my mixed breed). The fur eject also works quite well and I no longer have to stick / pinch myself extracting fir. Pro Tip: if you let the fur pack in until full, the fur should come out easily with a single pull of the lever. Simple.Bonus - the packaging was also pretty cool and seemed eco-friendly (no plastic, which isn't always the case with pet accessories and tools. Very pleased overall!

I have a tribble of an Aussie. I was hoping for an easy-to-clean tool, but the shape and balance is off and weird. It doesn't really clean any easier than a double-row pin-rake—which is actually easier to use/clean.

This brush is an all in one miracle!!! Our dog has more grooming tools than we do and he and I both hate the brushing process. A friend recommended this brush and I am so glad I bought it! Finished brushing in half the time, got more hair than usual and didn’t need anything beyond the brush to take care of his whole body! AND the teeth holds on to the hair until I clean it and I wasn’t covered in hair when I was done. The only thing I wish was different is the placement of the handle with the brush, but that is a me issue that I can correct with practice. I am going to recommend this brush over and over!!!

Nach längerer Überlegung habe ich mich dazu entschlossen, mir die Lumo Rigdeback zu bestellen und ich würde nicht enttäuscht!Die Lieferung erfolgte binnen weniger Tage. Die Bürste kam sehr gut verpackt bei mir an.Die Handhabung war anfangs ein wenig gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber innerhalb kurzer Zeit kam ich sehr gut damit zurecht. Das entfernen der Unterwollle geht mit der Lumo Ridgeback problemlos und sehr gut. Ihre Pins kratzen nicht auf der Haut meines Hundes. Durch den Hebel am oberen Ende lässt sich die Bürste schnell und problemlos wieder enthaaren und das Bürsten kann sofort weiter gehen!Ich bin total zufrieden mit der Bürste und würde sie jederzeit wieder bestellen.

Vraiment excellente. J’ai déjà plusieurs styles de brosses et peignes et croyez-moi celle-ci est le top. Mon chien est un berger polonais qui déteste le brossage. Elle ne se sauve même pas en voyant le peigne et le brossage est fantastique.
