Perfect for when you need to shower with no electricity in the dark!
I got this flashlight since it was cheap and i wanted to see how bright this was. It isn't as bright as a 2D LED Maglite but it works well for what i need it for which is for outdoor and for an emergency when the power goes out and i need to shower. This flashlight is bright enough to light up my entire bathroom. I originally just needed to make a purchase to get free shipping but also, this works great if you need to shower and don't have electricity working. The waterproof orientation of the flashlight prevents any water from getting in from the showerhead. Although i haven't actually tested it in the shower, i did a dry run and it's bright enough for lighting up the bathtub and even the whole bathroom. The carabiner clip works great as well, just clip it to your shower rack (somewhere where the flashlight can stay secure) and you're good to go. I'm sure this would work great in rainy weather while camping or doing some outside activity in the dark. Though the Maglites work as good. Anyway i got another flashlight, you can never have too many (well anything over 20 might be a little excessive) but in case of emergencies the alkaline batteries will work great, haven't tried using rechargeables in this but i am sure it will be as bright. For those who use this for underwater, this isn't a light where you can dive with it. There are some tricks to enhance the waterproof function for that but should be used at your own risk is plumbing tape, what they use to thread pipes, faucets and what not that has threads that water generally gets into. I haven't tried floating the flashlight, would be pretty cool to see and generally the floating feature is for those who accidently knock the flashlight into water which helps make it waterproof, long as there is not any or much water pressure the flashlight should be fine. I don't recommend using this flashlight for under water though, even with the plumbing tape it could ruin the flashlight since there is a circuit board for the LEDs. If the board gets too wet, the flashlight could stop working. If you plan on using this flashlight in rain or in the shower just make sure to not to drown the flashlight in water. Overall this is a great, bright flashlight. Not the brightest but it works far better than the classic flashlight bulbs that often have low efficiency.

Good Boating Flashlight
Got 2 of these for my jet ski to throw into the safety bag just in case I ever need them. They’re good flashlights just to throw into a bag as extra or backup. Wouldn’t use them for anything else really. Barely used them but I can say from when I have there durable, bright but not really bright, function easily with the press of a button, & the battery life seems to be good. Probably depends on what batteries you use but I used the ones that me with it & they have lasted me a few years. Yet again I never use these so do with that information as you please. It does take 3 AA batteries. Not insanely bright like I said but good brightness still. Easy to replace the batteries. Unsure on there waterproof or water-resistance but maybe another review from someone else can tell you. Overall happy & recommend!

GREAT DEAL for the Bucks
Arrived timely,, brightness is modest so if you are looking for a strong light to view objects in distance this is NOT the one. Lights go out or need to find your way around in the dark,, works well. the clip holder on end is very convenient.. perfect for mens belt loop or strap on lady's purse to keep flashlight handy. addendum 12/2015 upgrade to 5-Stars... Is this the BEST flashlight I have ever owned? No, not even close, answering the question. Is this Dorcy flashlight an excellent value for the cost. YES, very much so, answer is YES. Purchased one, then two more, and currently OWN five, one in each vehicle, one in kitchen, one- main room (TV- great for looking at connections, lettering too small to read glasses or not, with a flashlight). No longer use factory batteries, using the rayovac rechargeable AAA batteries in most; however, ALL batteries purchased recently have been eelope battery (Panasonic , formerly Sanyo) and ordering a Panasonic charger in addition to other chargers owned). Panasonic c117 (ck #) charger allows ONE to four to be charged, has the stop charging when done so you don't need to stand and monitor the charger... FIRST time to switch out battery(s).. YOU have saved money. However, not a review on eelope battery. The Dorcy hasn't been swimming but it's been outside when monsoon hit while walking in the national Forrest ,,,, in the woods on moonless night,, it is DARK. Have a handheld lantern style which is a good bit brighter (NOTE #1- Brinkman QBeam LED - a waterproof rechargeable battery built in- stellar bright about 6"x7"x4" overall size rough estimate and 1#- bought from Amazon and Highly recommend for Primary flashlight. After two years or so- it's a 5-Star also) All are yellow though I would have ordered all but two in Blue if I'd known the blue color was available, Still would have yellow in vehicles as in emergency situation, sometimes helps to SEE your flashlight. BEAM is very CLEAR, noticeably so compared to other LED flashlights. Lights up a dark road for fifty yards- want to shine light a half mile up the road to friend's place- would grab the Brinkman QBeam LED (refer to Note #1 above) Insofar as the Dorcey's longevity, I really don't know how many months on one charge; but in two years I''ve only changed battery out once (NO way to know how many hours on which flashlight when three in house are same color. SUPER BUY FOR UNDER $7 AT AMAZON. SUPER BUY AND WORTH MONEY AT $10. Buyer's choice, do your own research.. but you won't be disappointed if you just buy this one flashlight. LEO or folks with special needs,, may want to consider others for on your belt, However, a couple knocking around a cruiser will NEVER be a BAD thing.

A neat and solid feeling product, far better than most in its price range. The quality fits the Dorcy reputation, so it wasn't a surprise. It is fairly bright for a torch of its size and feels strong with no flexing in my grip as it is held. I like the fact that it takes AA batteries rather than the tiny AAA batteries, because alkaline cells of the AA type contain about three times the energy of AAA cells but cost about the same amount, making the AA cells far better value. The only downside is the strange spread of light with coloured fringes in, a bit distracting until you get used to it. It is a minor disadvantage that really doesn't bother me, you will have to decide for yourself it that is the case for you. And yes, it floats, even with batteries in, because I dropped it in the bathroom washbasin to test it. No ill effects at all. Definitely recommended.

I purchased both Dorcy and Energizer Waterproof Flashlights and this Review is for the Dorcy Flashlight. It also contains some information to compare it with the Energizer waterproof flashlight. I've broken my review down in two parts. Part 1 is short and focuses only on the Dorcy Flashlight. Part 2 is more detailed and compares the Dorcy with the Energizer *** PART 1: *** The Dorcy Waterproof Flashlight is lightweight, waterproof flashlight with three LEDs, reflector and carabiner clip. The price at the time of my review was $11. I have purchased three (3) of these Dorcy flashlights to date (one for my boat, one for my kayak and one for my quad). My oldest flashlight is three years old and still works. I would recommend this flashlight. *** PART 2 *** Here's how the Dorcy and Energizer waterproof flashlights compare. *** Waterproof *** First off both Dorcy and Energizer flashlights are waterproof. They float on the surface and work when submerged. *** Size & Weight *** Both flashlights are similar in size and shape although the Dorcy flashlight weights slightly more. *** Brightness LEDS *** The Dorcy Flashlight has 3 three LEDs while the Energizer has only one LED. The Dorcy flashlight is the clear winner here and is much brighter and illuminates much farther than the Energizer. *** Build Quality - Features *** The Built Quality of the Dorcy Flashlight is better. The Dorcy flashlight feels more substantial and solid when compare to the Energizer which feels lightweight and cheap. The on/off button on the energizer flashlight is harder to press than the energizer. The design and grip of the dorcy flashlight is better and it includes an integrated Spring Loaded Carabiner clip while the energizer has only a loop hook. The winner here again is the Dorcy. *** Price - Value *** At the time of my purchase the Energizer Flashlight was $8 while the Dorcy Flashlight was $12. At the time of my review the Energizer Flashlight is now $20 while the Dorcy is now only $11. At todays current price the Dorcy is a better value. ••• Conclusion ••• Both flashlights are waterproof, float and work well when submerged in water. At $11 the Dorcy Flashlight is not only Brighter, Stronger, More Durable and has a carabiner clip but it's $9 dollars cheaper than the current price of the Energizer. This makes the Dorcy flashlight a better value and all things considered the one I would recommend and buy again. here is the link to the energizer flashlight on amazon https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B007CMSUA6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Una linterna muy práctica, ilumina muy bien con la luz led, es comoda y además resiste golpes pues tiene la cubierta plástica (negra) que la proteje.
