Follow reviews for sizing and you'll succeed!
I followed the size info from other reviewers and it worked! My almost-4-year-old daughter starts our family's first ever dance class in a week and I ordered without ever trying anything on her. She just went up a street shoe size to 9 (Carter's/OshKosh) but still fits in her size 8.5 New Balance sneakers so I got the Bloch Tyette size 10 tap shoes. I got them in WIDE since her sneakers are wide width, although she fits in standard width shoes for the most part (except all stars). The WIDE tap shoes were a must for her so glad I got them wide to be on the safe side. The overall size fits just a tad big, just enough to be perfect to grow into through the rest of the dance season, but fit fine now, too. They work well with and without socks. I'll go ahead and put her in the "no-show" socks as recommended by another reviewer to keep from rubbing her ballet tights that she'll be wearing for her ballet/tap class. Thanks Amazon reviewers!

Very nice shoe for the price
I bought this shoe in a size 13.5 for my 6 year old and she is a size 12.5 in sneakers and most other shoes. She has some room to grow and unless she has a growth spurt, they should last her (hopefully). The dance school recommends buying tap shoes a half size to a whole size larger and wearing no show socks with the shoes while they fit larger so they last the season...I went up one whole size using this method and the shoes fit fine and lasted before she outgrew them. Her size 12.5 tan leather version of this same shoe still fit great with dance tights...and she wore them from September until now, almost June recital time. I replaced these because I would have to paint them black and they have to wear white socks with their dance recital costumes and the 12.5 size are super tight with the socks. If we went up any larger than one size on the new ones to allow for more room to grow, then they would not stay on her feet dancing even with the socks. Her foot is a medium width and the width is good on her. The reason I gave it only 4 stars is because you can't adjust the strap across the top like you can on the tan leather buckle version, however, this shoe was $10-15 less than the leather buckle one. Hope this helps trying to determine the best size...

Gorgeous, high quality tap from Bloch
Go 1-1.5 sizes up. I bought for both of my girls. I went 1.5 sizes up for both.I love that there’s a little heel transition cushion at the back of the shoe and that the eslastic part snaps. Both of them have a comfortable room to grow. One has about a half size worth, but the other seems to have a lot more room...I think her foot is a little more narrow, and we got a M width since that’s what she’s always worn, but maybe we should have purchased the narrow ones. So take that into consideration. If she is wearing socks, i think it will be fine.

Poor Quality! Peeling!!
Very poor quality. The picture shows one shoe that I purchased from Amazon (left) and one shoe that I purchased at our local dance shop(right). The one from Amazon is starting to peel after only wearing it 3 times versus the one from the dance shop which she wore 2 times a week for 8 months. They are the same shoe and brand. I have only had this pair for a little over a month. I brought them for a recital. I wished I had looked at all the reviews before buying but it was a little cheaper than the one from the dance shop. In this case cheaper definitely was not better. The shoe itself fits exactly as expected. Bloch is a wonderful brand and I hate to give these shoes such a low rating. Hoping this pair was just defective. I may give them another shot from Amazon but it may be wise to stick with my local dance shop when it comes to dance shoes.

The snap buckle is worth it!
Definitely read the other reviews on sizing up. Bought these for my 3yr old that wears an 8.5 show. Went up to a 9.5 to give a little growing room. She has an average width foot but ended up getting a wide because the snap wasn't comfortable on the 9.5M. Also found no show socks to help with the shoe being a little bigger until she grows into it. Love the snap buckle on the shoe. Makes life easier when its time to switch from tap to something else. We took off the bow for now and will save it for recital.

Fantastic Tap Shoe
I purchased these shoes for my daughter who is 4 and in her second year of tap. They seemed a little nicer than the shoes at Payless and are about the same price. For reference, the last time measured my daughter's feet, one was a size 9 and the other was a 10. I ordered a size 11, so they would last at least a year. They are a little big, as you would expect, but she is able to dance in them and hasn't had any blisters or had them fall off, etc. What I love about these shoes is that there is an elastic strap underneath the bow that snaps closed, so my daughter can take them on and off by herself. The bow is just decorative. I actually took it off because it was slowing down the change from ballet to tap shoes during class and will just put it back for the recital, etc. This is a nice shoe at a good price. I would definitely but these again.

Cute tap shoe for a good price!
I purchased these for our 4 year old daughter over the summer hoping that they will take her through a year of tap classes. She only wears them for a 1/2 hour a week so we wanted to get as much time out of them as possible. At the time our daughter was wearing a street size 9 sneaker but was almost ready to wear a 9.5. I read a number of reviews and decided to purchase a size 10 as they seem to run a bit small. She currently wears a size 9.5 street shoe and the size 10 are still a bit big on her foot. Until her food grows into the shoe we have been having her wear a little pair of white socks to keep them from slipping around on her foot as she dances.

These shoes are great. They never had to get "worn" in like ...
These shoes are great. They never had to get "worn" in like some shoes. They fit like a glove from the first day. Just make sure to use Bloch's measurements. They also snap close, which is great for toddlers that can't tie laces. The string can come out for quick changes without tying laces. I pulled ours out until her recital. I will reorder a larger size for spring's dance lessons!
