I had been an adherent fan of Gardner's books since the age of 11. I was introduced to his fictional character Perry Mason by an Uncle of mine. And boy did I like him! The courtroom drama and the finesse of this shrewd lawyer always takes you on to a ride of an unpredictable mystery. Nearly all the books of Gardner are page turner and so also was this one. Well this story had very less courtroom battle and more detective work throughout but one finds it equally enjoyable. Once you are hooked into the Gardener's books the characters he produces in all the books come alive, Perry Mason - the formidable lawyer, Della Street - His exceptional secretary, Paul Drake - the detective, Ltd. Trigg, Hamilton Burger, all these characters become a household names. If you haven't felt the magic of Gardner yet, you have missed out something very very interesting. Mind it, Gardner has wrote a total of 118 novels starring Perry Mason, and I have hardly covered half of them.A satisfactory three stars for The Case of One Eyed Witness.
