The Harry that I knew had a deep hate for the raciest system that he was brought up ...
I find this book very interesting. One of the people mentioned who met his demise in the electric chair, was Harry Wise. Harry and I were in the US Air Force together. After our departure from the Air Force we never kept in touch. I was shocked to learn about his death, and the manner in which he died, some years later. The words of the author were illuminating. The Harry that I knew had a deep hate for the raciest system that he was brought up in. His actions along with those of his brother and cousin are not surprising to me. The manner in which the author wrote about the Harry’s demeanor as he went to the chair was vintage “spit in the eye” Harry. We met while serving in Air Force Flight 4370 at Lackland Airforce base in San Antonio. If anyone has information about his family please pass it on to me. I wonder if any of the pictures that we took together are still available.

Inside Out keeps me inside reading!
Loved learning about the crimes and criminals that were from New Jersey or surrounding areas. I found it interesting to learn a little about their personalities while they were behind bars and sometimes what happens to them after they return to normal life outside the prison. It's also very interesting to see how inmates were handled and how that has changed over the years due to different circumstances. Great read!

Great book !
This book is one of my favorites!! I've never read a book twice, but I'd read this one again. I stumbled across this book while cross referencing some statements made in Ruben Carter's book "The Sixteenth Round". Awesome New Jersey history too !! I LOVE THIS BOOK !

Interesting Read
A real detailed look at the prison system of old. Some of the stories Harry tells would not happen in today's world, an interesting read of the old-time respect between prisoner and guard.

Very intriguing and history for me
I lived in Eiizabeth New Jersey, my Uncle” Nathaniel Roberts”. Was incarcerated with Ruben Carter, there maybe two chapters, my Uncle was mentioned in, they called him the “ Bull” . If you get a chance read the book and look at the movie” The Hurricane “ also read Mr. Carter’s Book. My Uncle has passed, but he did his time, he was a great uncle , he buried his daughter when she was seventeen and his grandson when he was a very young child. He didn’t get a chance to spend time with them because he was incarcerated.

Excellent read, could be a companion book to read with "Hothouse: Life inside Leavenworth Prison"
I am glad I stumbled upon this book after reading "Hothouse: Life inside Leavenworth Prison" by Pete Early(excellent book!). This is a very fast, interesting read of a man who did 50 years at Trenton State Prison,NJ; 1st as a Guard for 29 years and then in the Education Dpt at the prison. He saw and knew many infamous prisoners and he writes stories of them about their time at the prison and their crimes.Really good book, give it a read if you like "Hothouse..." or want to know more knowledge about the American Prison system.
