This all-plastic door sweep is easy to cut with a sharp pair of scissors. Measure carefully on the side of the door that opens towards you. This will give you the maximum noise abatement (which is what we wanted with two businesses in the house).Then, all you have to do is cut to your measurement, close the door, and start at the end nearest the door handle. Place the strip to lay on the floor (with the door shut.) Pull away some of the red strip to start adhesion and slowly but surely keep pulling and pressing the adhesive area to the door, making sure the bottom of the sweep is in contact with the floor. If the strip is a tad too long, you can easily trim it on the hinge side.It's been minimizing noise by about 75% with one door between and from other rooms by about 90% with two doors between. Two TVs - no problems. Violin-playing kid - perfect. Just keep that baby monitor on!

I’d recommend an extra strip of double sided tape or another sort of adhesive as one corner has not stuck on its own.

Arrived just as described. It shipped rolled up so I left it on garage counter for a few days to flatten out. It was a little longer than my door which is great to cut down for a perfect fit. Normal scissors cut the material easily.

This looked like the answer I was looking for to keep dog hair out of the furnace room but it doesn't really serve that purpose or any other purpose it suggests it is good for..... I can see where it may work in some instances, but not for me. I learned this the hard way and wish I had not spent money on it.Otherwise, it is easy to work with, I had to use a half a dozen thumbtacks to keep it in place as the stickiness is not sticky. Live and learn.
