Love how this writes
I haven’t had a fountain pen for a long time now, and decided that I would like one with my travelers notebook, but it is difficult finding a broad nib. When I saw this one, I thought I would give it a try because the price point was good and I am so glad I did. It does have a broad nib. It is very smooth, and it came with a cartridge of blue ink, which is also my favorite. It also came with the device to put your own ink in. I can’t believe such a beautiful pen was so expensive! I think this is going to be Christmas presents for many people in my family.

Almost as good as my son's Mont Blanc
No kidding...This pen feels very posh and has heft to it.The Engraved Translucent Blue Ballpoint Pen with Chrome Cap and Trim is themodel I bought and I can tell it's going to be used very much.I have a lot of very good quality pens and this makes the list as one of myfavorites. The dark blue looks dreamy. Reminds me of the dark sky at the moment of eveningjust before total sundown. The chrome is a nice contrast. Now getting to why the 5* rating. It's the smoothness of the write. Feels very Mont Blanc. I am thinking I'm going to have to orderanother one. Maybe the Engraved Chrome one. I haven't owned this long enough to get a refill, soI can't really comment on that. If any issues, I can come back and update this.Thank you for reading my review. Happy writing. xo

Great pen!
Honestly, writing with this pen in my diary makes me feel like I could me (I'm not but I'm just saying I COULD BE) an undercover descendent of a dynasty. Like, maybe this pen was handed down by a grandmother who one night had to leave her palace under the cover of night making her way across the country side by trains and carriages. On her death bed she handed the pen over to me with a faltering smile and said the name "Karrotski" then sighed and passed into the other life. I never knew what she meant.Good pen!

Smooth and sturdy, the Intensity feels and looks expensive.
I like everything about this pen. It's classy, solid and attractive; one of Shaeffer's best -- and everything Shaeffer makes is good. Some fountain pens feel flimsy. Not this baby. When you pick one up, you're holding a piece of refined space-age metal in your hand. A high quality writing instrument that writes more smoothly than many of my more expensive pens! I own two and will probably buy another Intensity some day.

Watch out!
I purchased the Sheaffer Intensity Engraved Translucent Blue Ballpoint Pen with Chrome Cap and Trim for $12.74. It was delivered in two days. It is nice. A bit of weight to it and cool to the touch metal body. But it arrived without this promised item: Includes 1 black Shaffer ‘K’ Ballpoint refill. I looked at the description some more and it turns out that every iteration (above) comes with 'K' Ballpoint refill, even the fountain pens & the rollerball version too.And watch out for any sneaky price changes. RIght before my eyes the price would switch from about $13 to $41. And to test it, I went to the cart to see the $41 price, and it now has an estimate of two weeks for delivery, not two days as with the $13 pricing. PURCHASER BEWARE, double check before placing your order.

Decent Pen
As far as I can tell there is absolutely no plastic on this pen which is nice. It also makes it a bit on the heavy side and could be balanced a bit better. The pen I got was labeled as "Fine" on the box but the nib has an "M" and although it is a medium nib, it's slightly finer than the Lamy Pur and LX pens I have. The cap is a screw on which I love and hate. I love it because it makes me feel like a sir while I hate it because I always forget that it's a screw on. I feel that this pen is a bit on the "scratchy" side but it may just be that it needs to be broken in. Another thing is that the pen doesn't write as wet but that may be because the nib is slightly finer than a Lamy medium. Overall it's a OK pen.

seller has issues
this is a nice pen and writes well. I am a collector, so this is a daily use pen for when I do not want to take out my expensive ones. For those new to fountain pens, steel nibs can write as well as gold ones, so gold nibs(not gold plated) are a collectors issue. Also make sure to use ink made for fountain pens. Black ink will clog the feed more than blue. Not a problem, but you will need to clean the feed more often. Just run water through the pen.If your pen doesn’t write well, a trick is to add a drop of dish soap to water and run the mix through the pen. I put the mix in a pill bottle and use a converter This usually makes the flow of ink improve. It this doesn’t work do the same thing with ammonia. Never press down hard to separate the tines of the nib.My reason for the 3 star review is related to my title. The pen that was delivered was a broad nib, not a fine nib as ordered. For me this is not a major issue, but it might be for some of you.
