Perfect for 6" speaker repair. Why pay for a $25 kit?
Replacement worked perfectly for repairing a pair of 27 year old 1st generation Boston Acoustics Subsat Six 6" subwoofers. Easy to install after removal of old deteriorated foam surround. Read someone else using the $2 Aleene's Tacky Glue for crafts as the adhesive and can confirm it does work! Using the tacky glue allowed me time to reposition the new foam if necessary. You don't need to buy the $8 special adhesive that is claimed to be designed for speaker repair. I removed the old foam off the paper speaker cone by using a razor blade to gently scrap it off. I left the old adhesive on the cone as it was not practical to remove without damaging the cone. It was pretty thin and dried up so was not an issue for adhesion of the new foam surround. To remove the old foam and adhesive from the metal speaker frame I used a small 1/4" flat head screw driver as a scrapper. This scrapped the metal ridge seat with the old foam and adhesive completely and ensured I did not damage the paper cone. Then cleaned off the both the paper cone and metal surface with isopropyl alcohol and it's ready for attaching the new foam surround. It took me approximately 60 minutes to install the new foam surround. Because the speaker frame was not perfectly round, I had to trim them slightly to fit the frame. I gave the repair 12 hours to dry before testing it out. My window rattling bass was back! During my testing of the repair, I popped the surrounds on the 2 satellite speakers and repaired those with 4" surrounds also from this seller. Pictures of those before and after are included.

Much better replacing original automotive speakers with aftermarket speakers!
My Lexus LS430's door speakers had rotted out foam. Yet they still worked. This foam made a DRAMATIC IMPROVEMENT in sound quality! Also, many aftermarket speakers do not have the correct "OHM" rating as the original speakers. This mismatch can damage the audio Head unit! FIX your old speakers, for a low price!

Satisfactory quality
I was able to install these surrounds in a dbx subwoofer (2 6" speakers) whose foam surrounds had fallen apart. They seem a bit stiffer than the originals, but do a satisfactory job of sound reproduction in that lower hz range.

These were a perfect fit for my e46 rear deck speakers!
After doing research on the forums, it became clear that the only way to fix terrible sounding/static-y speakers was going to be to replace them...until now! I've done this repair before on speakers and it's super easy (just as it was for these)! Just cut out the foam surround, clean the surfaces, use speaker glue and glue these new surrounds back on. Perfect fit and back in the car in under 2 hours! And can't beat the price! They sound like new!
