Holy Week: An Emotions Primer (Baby Believer)

Perfect way for a 2 year-old who understands and is curious about emotions to learn about Jesus' last week before His death and resurrection. Perfect and appropriate illustrations. This is definitely a book that will and can be in rotation for older toddlers as well.

A friend had gotten me the Psalms Color Primer, and once I found out there were other books in the series, I was sold! I wanted an Easter book that wasn’t super cheesy/cheapening, while also perfect for littles, and this was it. It’s a great way to talk about emotions and lead up to Easter with the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

Alright, so I gotta tell ya about this book called "Holy Week: An Emotions Primer" by Baby Believer. Let me tell ya, this book is wicked good!First off, the illustrations in this book are top notch. They're colorful and eye-catching, perfect for keepin' your little one's attention. The book covers the emotions of Holy Week in a way that even the youngest kiddos can understand. It's a great way to introduce them to the story of Easter.The book is sturdy and well-made, so it can handle a lot of wear and tear from those little hands. Plus, it's a good size for snugglin' up with your kiddo during story time.Overall, I highly recommend "Holy Week: An Emotions Primer" for any parent lookin' to teach their children about the emotions of Easter. It's a joy to read and will definitely become a favorite in your little one's library. Grab a copy for yourself and spread the Good News this Holy Week!

This book is beyond special. Working through emotions with a toddler is rough at times and being able to read through this book with scriptures supporting Jesus’s emotions through Holy Week is so special and even more so important!

We own all of the Baby Believer Books and this one is tied with the Psalms one as our favorite! The concept of exploring emotions that people felt during Holy Week is so unique. I have not seen any other books like it. My 3yr old daughter loved to try and replicate the emotions that each of the people felt and just that extra action helped her to recall so much more about the week leading up to the death and resurrection of Jesus. Each emotion is beautifully illustrated that captured her attention and led to asking deeper questions about the scriptures. We have recommended this book to all our friends with young children.

I’ve enjoyed all of the books in this series. I love the beautiful illustrations, and that each spread contains actual scripture not just watered down simplification. But this one I was truly impressed the first time I read it with my son. It took us on a journey beginning with Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, and ending with Christ’s resurrection. We have the story in our kids bibles, but I could really see my son’s understanding expanding as we read, and he ran to get his other bible story books to compare. And by chance we came across the palm leaves as he entered Jerusalem in the Bible we keep in my son’s travel bag, and he spent a long time in church staring at the picture like he had never done before. This book brought the story to life for him.

My almost 2 year old loves books. She has asked to read this one several times during our nightly reading routine. I do thin it out a little bit for her age, but as she gets older we will read every word each time. It is a great way to introduce Jesus and His story, while learning about our different emotions alongside Scripture. She loves the pictures and acting out the different emotions as we read along.

We read this at bedtime around Easter, and my 4 year old loves it. Perfect for helping him learn about emotions while also learning the Story of Easter.
