Installation was average to others I've installed, had a little difficulty with network connection, but that was due to my inexperience truthfully. However this was the only openener that I've been able to find in years of looking that has been able to fit in my extremely restricted thickness requirements for installation. I finally have an automatic opener that works almost silently and with the new updated app works great with my google assistant. I couldn't be happier

Most universal remote openers do not work with Skylink door openers. Because this is a Skylink product I had a great hopes and sure enough it worked. It was super easy to program you just press the learn button on the opener and then you press the button on the remote and you’re good to go. I tried two different remotes from Lowe’s and neither worked. This keychain opener feels very sturdy and it also came with double-sided tape. I mounted it inside my house and it still opens the garage door from there. My previous opener did not open it from that far away.

This keychain remote work with my skylink receiver GB-318 and work great along with my skylink keypad. I have been using skylink universal receiver since it hook up to all kind of garage door opener. With skylink product, I save more money instead of buying expensive optional stuff from Liftmaster. My universal skylink stuff was hook up to my older Genie garage door opener first, but the Genie broke and I change to Liftmaster, the skylink stuff still work. Warning, the skylink stuff will work with skylink receiver only. So, you will need skylink universal receiver first. It will wire to any 2 wire garage door opener open/close switch or even older one. You may need a 12V adapter for the skylink receiver for older garage door opener like my older Genie (20+ years old), but new one like my liftmaster, you don't need.

This was a replacement remote as my husband destroyed the original that came with the skylink opener. Our garage door opener is a good 20 years old so we were unable to get a replacement remote. We were hesitant to purchase this, we were worried it wouldn't work, but the original was easy to hook up and program and it worked great. All I had to do with this replacement was press the little button on the side of the unit, when it flashed quickly, let the button go and press the remote. The door opened immediately, it took less than 30 seconds to program. Highly recommend Skylink products!

I bought this remote to pair with a SKylink remote sensor for my garage door. It works - albeit inconsistently. Sometimes it works on the first button press, and sometimes it will take several minutes. When I first tested it, it worked all the way from the end of my driveway. Some days, it won't work form right in front of my garage door. That is some inconsistent performance that can not garner this product a higher rating than three stars. So again, it works, but don't expect it to work every time. If you're stuck outside and its raining, this unit MIGHT fail you 40% of the time.

Previous model required button be pressed for 2 seconds, thus minimizing accidental commands. This newer design acts instantly, so if the button touches anything, it could open or close the door unintentionally. A dual button on the back side to allow squeeze or a double press could help.
