Enjoyed the book immensely and learned a lot that I didn’t know or forgot.As a an Acadian, born in Memramcook, the site of the second Congress,I have spent most of my time learning more of the Dupuis and Dioron/Gould geneology and history

Cajuns and Their Acadian Ancestors is an excellent first book for any young person interested in the history of the Cajun people. Nicely illustrated and very readable, the book draws on the broad range of academic Cajun studies to produce a overview of the Cajun & Acadian history from the groups origins in France to Nova Scotia to Louisiana. Cultural history is covered as well. This book should be in all public and school libraries in Louisiana and in many places outside so young people can explore the history of this unique group.

Easy to read and follow. Touched on everything from the old to the new.

Basic history of the Louisiana Cajun people written for young people about middle school age. Good quick read for anyone. Covers the settling in Arcadia in Canada, trials there and expulsion by the English, and travels ending in settling in Louisiana.

It is a well written book with valuable facts about Cajun heritage.

What a good book! My wife is descended from the Acadians, and we lived in Acadian country in Louisiana for many years. Great info for our grandson.

I am very proud of my cajun heritage. As a child I adored listening to the stories of days gone by from my many cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. I was excited to receive this book and hoped to pass it on to my grandkids. However, the book is distasteful to me and I am tossing it in the garbage.
