Interesting Twists
This is the first book I have read from this author. I enjoyed the book overall. I thought that it was a good storyline and was interesting. Malek has to become king because his father has passed away and his brother, the one who was supposed to be king, has disappeared. Or so they make it seem as Malek knows where his brother is, he just won't come home. Malek has a foe in his mother who believes she should rule the country. All of the rest of the rulers are men and I feel the author played on the fact a little about the Middle Eastern culture and women wanting power but not really getting it. Malek finds Sophie when his staff, mostly from his dad's time of ruling, seem to be incompetent of finding a presentation he needs. Sophie is able to find it which causes Malek to propose that she work for him. Sophie has decided to be a rolling stone and not get attached/move around often after she has spent the last 6 years caring for her I'll mother. If she accepts Malek's offer she can travel a little and it is only for 6 months. From there thr story begins and it's quite a time between the two. I liked the ending as it seemed to work out for everyone. I may pick up the next book in the series.

Not Ms.Fraser's best work by F A R.....
It really pains me to write this, not because " I NEVER write bad/negative reviews" like I've seen too many reviews claim because I'm a passionate reader and if I really LOVE a book I HAVE to Rave about it and if I Really Hate/Dislike or am Hurt or offended by a book I have to get my Rant out, sometimes just soo I can get it out my system and move on...... Thankfully I don't feel the need to rant but sadly No rave here either..... This book made me sad,it felt forced and rushed, a bit contrived and even a tiny convoluted at times ,Sophie rushes in at the beginning soo fast w/stopping to think about anything at 1st,it just soo fake and unreal... And coming from someone who reads/has read as many PNR ( Paranormal Romance) w/insta love ,I feel that's saying something..... I started reading this wonderful series from the end w/book 5 and works backwards and even though their were times I wanted to shake some the men and at least a couple of the women and knock a sense to them at times,I was always totally sucked into the remarkable characters and their lives... In book 5 w/ Daidan and Taina we're taken through soo many intense changes and moments and emotions in just 150 pages or soo but the story was done w/such a beautiful elegance, even as I worried what show was gonna drop next I couldn't look or turn away, it was gripping and I LOVED every moment of it... These characters in all the books all felt so real and special to me and even when I'm my last nerve !like Zahir ( shake head) who seems to learn emotional lessons soo slowly it needs to be in a remedial class almost or Lucy who's soo dang stubborn you'd honestly swear she's part donkey.... But in all the other books I felt I real connect to the characters and a real story build within n them and around them, but this ? This just felt forced and very, very rushed... Sophie who claimed ms after ALL she went through w/her mother she wants nothing to do but travel and not be tied down for the foreseeable future, but she meets Malek goes to work for him and agrees both go his country and stay in his palace, pretend to be his GF ( convoluted scheme) all the while doing his IT work AND helping find him a future bride, and almost literally take all of five whole seconds to say Yes! To all this w/a man she's barely known 24 hours.... Deep sigh... By chp. 5 you've only had a few pages of Malik's pov and I feel lost in Sophie's quick, quick, slow, slow responses to things one minute she's rushing into things not seeming to think at all the next over analyzing everything and rushing outside to palace in a fit of anger over on kiss and getting into danger and needing to be rescued .... Most of the book was from Sophie's pov,soo I never truly connected to Malak and didn't feel I got to know him... The whole story was a series of both of them either pulling together in r pulling apart both running soo hot and cold w/each other ,either all in or all out but either at the same time,w/hardly any true Communication are getting to know each other every truly happening before supposedly their in love and he's begging to marry her... Then a twist at the end making most of the story a bit of a case of " much ado about nothing"....I soo wanted to love this story, but it such felt soo rushed and forced ,the characters seemed to rush some how into love without ever getting to know each other w/no real conversations or anything Insta love never felt this fake....If you wanna see this series at its best I highly recommend my faves books 3&5... I LOVE Ms.Frasers Desert Kings series but not this... I'm truly sorry...

A Real Treat
I'd been saving this book to read as a special treat as I am a fan of Ms Fraser's writing. I wasn't disappointed when I finally got tucked up in my reading corner. Ms Fraser writes very compellingly. Her heroine, Sophie, was already my best friend by the end of Chapter One. By the end of Chapter Two I was captivated by the charismatic Malek. By the end of Chapter Three there was no way I was going to put this book down. I was hooked from beginning to end. The story setting was difficult, the Middle East being a very troubled region currently. But Ms Fraser created a plausible Arabic country with a passing nod to the factional tensions we all know about. This lent veracity to the story and made the characters much more real and relevant. Full marks to Ms Fraser. Her writing goes from strength to strength. More, please.

A desert tale of romance
Sophie had recently lost her mother and was working in a hotel. When she is clearing dishes from the room of the future king of Sumaira she offers her services to find a presentation on his laptop that has gone missing. As she has always wanted to travel when he suggests she join their entourage as an IT employee she jumps at the chance. Will she fall for the handsome future king? Will he return her admiration? A gentle read of love in the desert.

Great read
What a really good read this was, like allot of this genre of books it wasn't over the top. The storyline took preference and not page after page of book filling sex. Well balanced, and well written.
