Nice and secure
We just bought our first home. We wanted a little bit more protection when we are away or asleep. We have a few windows that are close to the ground and deemed it's easily accessible if they were unlocked. If we fail to lock the windows or the lock fails, this would prevent from accessing the house and can cause quite the noise if you try to lift it open. You will have to manually flip these up to be used. When applying keep them closer to the middle of the window, because if you give the trespasser more room to ram it up, it can break off. These will come in handy when we have children. Having these out of arms reach will prevent them from falling out a window.

Safety for Young children
I searched for quite awhile before I found these safety locks. I have a two story home with sash windows and I needed safety locks which would allow the window to be open only 4 inches to satisfy safety codes. These are simple to install and and simple to disengage so that the window can also be opened fully when young children are not present. They also work on sliding glass doors. They are sturdy and clear. You will not notice them obscuring your view if placed to the far left or right.

Great Item
This is the second set we owned (two different locations.) Never had an issue with them falling off. We used to have a set on our sliding door before upgrading, and even with slamming into the BurglaBar when opening the door, it never budged. We had one at the top of the door and one at the bottom; the slider faced the afternoon sun. We cleaned the glass with a glass cleaner for dust, then before we put the BurglaBar on we wiped the area with alcohol and set the bar. I have not had much luck taking them off -- but then we've never needed to.

Will not work on all windows
I have used these previously on apartment windows. They are simple to use and worked well preventing the window from opening when hinged. However, I purchased them again for a new place with aluminum windows, but the area between each pane of glass was so close together, if applied, the window would not open at all even when flat and unhinged. So unfortunately, they did not work on the specific type of window we had. They would work well on sliding glass doors or larger framed windows. I returned them unused and without hassle.

Worked as advertised
I am very happy with this purchase. I have 6 of these up on various windows and a sliding glass door, and they are very strong and give me some feeling of security. I have not had trouble with any falling off - I cleaned the glass well with rubbing alcohol first and pressed fairly hard on them until I could not see any air bubbles in the clear adhesive. I have jammed these fairly hard with the sliding glass door, and they do not budge! When I purchased these, I was debating between getting them or those magnetic alarms that go off if the window or door is opened - I am so glad I bought these instead; I would rather deter an intruder from opening the doors and windows rather than just hearing the they are coming through the window! I also think these are great for baby proofing - my son went through a stage where he was trying to open doors and windows on his own, and these can easily be placed high above a child's reach ensuring their safety.

After they fall off reattach with new tape
Adhesion seems to be hit and miss. I just bought the industrial grade 3M double stick tape and reattached them. Much much stronger, only downside is the new tape is gray and not transparent. Small price to pay for ventilation locks on double hung windows.

This is a MUST HAVE product if you have little ones!
I use this for all of my sliding glass doors and windows. It has been a great safety product not only to stop someone from the outside being able to open it, but stops my little boys from being able to open the door without an adult being around. They are able to reach the lock to the door but with the Burglabar, are unable to push the door open. I also use it on their bedroom window so that when it's open it doesn't go beyond the 4 inches that I allow the window to be open. The lock is up farther so their little hands can't reach it. I cannot rave enough about this product and super easy to install.

such promise, so little delivery
These are super simple to install. They might work for old drafty windows, but if you have anything recent (since Regan was president), you'll find that there simply isn't enough clearance.EVERY time I open or close any of the windows in my house (built in 2004), the window catches on these. If you're aware of this, and go slow, no problem. If you forget you end up tearing the product in half. Not a huge deal - it snaps back easily - AFTER you retrieve the 2nd half from INSIDE your window.Fortunately our windows are easily removed for cleaning, but it's enough of a pain the broken part remains there for awhile. If I could return these, I would. I wish I had tested them out more before installing all 6 of them. It's much easier to remove 1 than 6. :(
