Nice Niger seed
Niger seed is the best for attracting small birds. I, using it mied with cheaper general birdseed and lard, heating it all up and filling coconut shells. this will provide both the fat and the protein little birds need in the winter, it is the only thing that seems to attract the rarer small birds, as well as the more seen acrobatic blue tits.

quality product - good price
If you are lucky niger seeds in a tiny holed feeder will attract goldfinches in large number. They are a joy to watch, brightly colour argumentative acrobatic little birds that squabble constantly. They have a distinctive light giggling song and usually hang about in big groups. In the late summer the dangle upside down on thistles to eat the seeds, I have no idea what they eat the rest of the year but the do love the niger seeds. Despite the tinyness of the hole in the feeder, they do make a terrible mess so try to get a feeder with a try underneath to catch the dropped seeds. Having said that the seeds don't seem to harm the plants underneath and don't germinate in the garden (phew). It is a great price for this quantity of seeds - get some air-tight storage containers to decant the seeds into when you have opened the bag (old fat ball containers work well for this but you will need a few)

Gold Finches love them
It took me a long time to attract Gold Finches into our garden, but I'm so pleased they are now regular visitors.Niger seeds have played a big part in attracting them. This is a large bag, which should last me a while. The only downside is that the plastic bag they arrived in isn't the strongest. The seeds themselves are good with very little extraneous material.I think the value for money is very good for this quantity of seeds.I hope you find my review helpful.

Nothing on my garden wants to eat this seed.
I was hoping to attract goldfinches with this seed but nothing seems to want to eat it. It also grows in the lawn when spilt.

Goldfinches and Tits...
Second time purchasing these and the birds love them! With the combination of these, sunflower hearts, nuts, suet pellets and high quality suet balls, I now have blue tits, great tits, coal tits, sparrows, starlings, goldfinches, bullfinch, jays, wood pigeons and magpies in my garden all day, every day!It took about 6 months to build them up to where they see the garden as a reliable food source but I've done it.The goldfinches started off with just mum and dad, I'm early spring, now they bring all of their babies too. It's a delight to watch, see their personalities and how they have grown.Worthwhile purchase.
