good product. very useful in hard to light areas
I use this to look inside musical instruments, mainly bass violin. I use the shorter 7 inch version to look into smaller places/ instruments. I am glad I have both. Anyway, this is very very useful and well worth the money. The flexible neck on the light is stiff enough that it retains its form for as long as you need. It's bright enough for most apps. I agree with other reviewers that the AAAA batteries are hard to find, but oh well. This product is well made, and I expect it to last a long time. The light can be turned on with a pen-type push button (intermittent), or you can screw it on like a mag-lite. I recommend.

Works Well For My Needs - Highly Recommended
This Streamlight 65418 18-Inch Stylus Reach Flashlight is an excellent choice for anyone needing to get light into tight spaces. The long, flexible neck is easy to position and the light is very bright. We use this as a bore light when inspecting firearms brought in to our small shop for service or trade. My only concern is that it takes "AAAA" (quadruple A) batteries that are almost impossible to find locally. Thankfully, Amazon sells them as well! Highly Recommended! CFH

Fantastic for intricate work on small engines
I recently started a side hustle repairing and servicing small engines, and this light is invaluable. Only drawback is being powered by highly uncommon AAAA batteries, but i simply ordered an 8 pack here on Amazon so i have some spares. Great light, great quality.

The most useful item you will ever buy
I call it "Harry Potter" because it resembles a lit wand. Remember the scene in "Alien" when they are looking for the facehugger after it disappears from John Hurt's body? The were all holding pale blue pen torches with an intense light on the end of a thin extension rod. Incredibly useful for searching in dark cavities, especially through small openings. From checking piston crowns via the spark plug hole to checking dental crowns to looking for dropped bolts under kitchen appliances: You cannot see without light! Anyway, the thing in the Alien movie was a Flexilum flexible surgical light and its main use was for checking all the cement had been removed from inside a femur after a hip replacement removal. This is the closest you will get and I have several. Only drawback is you have to be careful not to bend it too tightly a the plastic coating can crack and let fluids in (like oil and grease etc) Oh, and it takes 3 weird batteries which are sold in packs of 4. (AAAA)

Need to get light in to a very tight or small space, then this is the light!
Excellent design and functionality: very good length, excellent light control, (continuous or intermittent), just the right thickness, and great brightness, etc. Exactly what I needed for getting light in to very small and or tight spaces, allowing me to see clearly.

Ok light
Good light for value, but has flaws. The light will not stay on by itself.

A bright idea (lousy pun, great light)
This is an extremely handy light that I have found useful in numerous applications. It works very well as a borelight for guns, it can be bent so that it sits on a flat surface keeping light focused on a small area (excellent for model work), and hung over a pipe when working amongst ductwork. By twisting the tailcap, you can make the light stay on continuously (though this is nowhere to be found in the packaging) or use it intermittently by pressing the button on the tailcap. The light is quite bright for so small a bulb and the long gooseneck holds it shape very well. My only quibbles are with the tailcap not locking in to keep the light on since twisting the cap is difficult at times (especially with wet hands), and the use of AAAA batteries. And that's no typo- you have to use AAAA batteries which are difficult to find and expensive so if you plan to use this light often, I suggest buying a replacement set of batteries when you order the light. That does make it a little pricey but you'll be glad you did when you realize the folks at your local supercenter want to have you committed if you ask for AAAA batteries. Overall though, this is a handy (not quite so) little light to have on hand when that clunky kitchen drawer model is too awkward.

Great product But AAAA Batteries? How come?
Super awesome Great product! Very nice and useful tool! Only complaints are the Bulb socket is too fat to go where the Bend a light can go. Make sure you order some extra AAAA batteries too as you will be very hard pressed to find them in a store. Battery life seems good so far so no worries. Well built product that hopefully will be revised later to include AA batteries and a thinner Bulb Socket. No real reason not to buy though. I love this thing and will buy more when these give up the ghost!
