Yes, amperage is how fast the electricity moves, or draw. You can think of it like a river; the width x depth of the river is the voltage, the current (how fast the water moves) is the amperage, and the volume of water being displaced is the wattage, hence A x V = W. So long as your battery is 12 volts, the equiptment will run. Amps is calculated in hours, or how long the battery will last before being drained. 1 amp draw means in one hour 1 amp hour of the battery has been used. So a 10 amp pump running on a 10 amph hour battery will last 1 hour. So if you used a battery less than 17 amps, divide the size of the battery (amp hour) by the amperage the equiptment uses (17.5 A) to get how long your battery will last before being drained.

not sure its in the material, but I would not buy this product, it has the making of a good unit except the spray nozzele is plastic and when you contact the seller about the warranty, they do not know how to get the mgf. to replace it HOPE that tells you about the warranty
