I really liked the initial premise with Sarah Miles as a strong female character as a team leader for a Recon Team but then the rest of the story seriously went south. I felt her character was truly robbed of a real story building, I mean, how the hell is she in charge of a Recon Team after 4 months? I liked that she was working with her brother, liked the strong family vibe there. I feel like she should have been in Recon after 6+ years, enough time for her come in her own, and be an established Recon Team Leader before this storyline came into play. It's like Dax ruined a real opportunity for her to evolve as a character. I feel like if some guy dropped down in the middle of my operation and was responsible for my brother getting captured from the Hive, I would have been besides myself with worry for the only family I had left in the world, attraction be damned. And the storyline with her having to lose her status as a Coalition Fighter to be able to go after her brother was also disingenuous since as a Recon Team, that is what they did, go after captured Coalition Fighters. And let's not talk about her Mate, Dax, who apparently had no impulse control with her and treated her like she was a disobedient child by spanking her to make her do his bidding. That was too over the top, and borderline abuse to me, and did Sarah injustice by reducing her to some obedient, pitiful mate who wasn't allowed to be herself. It made the sex a little less enjoyable to read since Dax seemed more like a bully to me. Not one of her better stories.

A most unexpected but delightful mistake.Raised by a father and 4 brothers Sarah is not wilting simpering female. She has strength, smart, sass and skills. Joining the collation to fight by her brother Seth's side she doesn't have time for a man.Dax is so close to going berserker his commander demands he be tested for a bride. This Atlan has his work cut out for him. His bride is not some sweet bidable Atlan female raised to sooth the Beast but a warrior.Look forward to some fighting action, mating cuffs, huge alien, spanking, plugs and so many orgasms im surprised she could still talk!

This book started out strong with Sarah a kick ass human , leader of her squad , fighting against the Hive (similar to the Borg Collective in Star Trek)when through a mix up, ends up the mate of Dax from the planet Atlan. If Dax can't mate with her , his inner beast takes control and he has to be killed. She makes a deal with him to become his mate if he helps her rescue her brother, but the plot just takes a nose dive where Dax is a Neanderthal in men/women relationships and how they are to be conducted. Women are for pumping out babies and staying home to take care of them. I felt I was reading something from the 50's as Dax dominates her entire life, not just in the bedroom and when she disobeys, he punishes her by spanking her. This spanking isn't for sexual pleasure , but punishment and keeps hitting her until she submits. If my "mate" raised a hand against me to correct my behavior, it would be the last time as I wouldn't be around for a second time. There is lots of sex and Sarah becomes a submissive nympho where Dax is involved. She even wants his cuffs that bind her to him all the time. Their relationship is unbalanced and unhealthy for the human female. For the shortness of this book, it is also overpriced. This is a return for me.

How did Sarah get mixed up at being an interstellar bride? No way, she signed up to go to battle, to be a warrior for the coalition. She made her father a promise to go look out for her last surviving brother . Now that the mistake is fixed she is ready to join the coalition. For a few weeks things are going as planned, and she is side-by-side with her brother fighting the hive. That is until a huge Atlan warrior drops in on one of their missions. And the nerve of him claiming to be her mate. Now the situation is even more complicated, she not only has a mate, she has to rescue her brother from the hive. She’s a very strong and capable woman who happens to be the mate to an Atlan warrior going through the mating fever. A great book, a lot of action, a lot of steam, and who wouldn’t love a big strong warrior who puts you before everything else?

Actually by accident I started reading this book series, I have always said that I don't like books like this, aliens, bla bla.... right? Well, I absolutely loved the first book I read, which was book nbr six and since then - well in just three days I'm about to start book nbr eight!!! So entiecing, so entertaining, so full of Alphas, not always males, also females, strong and powerful, lots og + 18 scenes or + 21 scenes, however you feel is more correct. Of course there are the villains, the good, the bad, everything in between, so this book series has it all more or less, at least the first seven books. Now I'm hoping the rest will be equally good, but I could not resist writing these lines here... :-) So if you are like me, thinking you don't like aliens and all that - try one book in this series and find out for yourself. The books I find a bit expensive for Kindle books and I have not bought so expensive books ever before here, but one time everything is a first... So enjoy your reading as much as I have been doing :-)

Damn I love this series. Sarah & Dax are my favorite couple in this series so far. Sarah was trying to get signed up for the front lines of the war and work side by side with her only remaining brother. They accidentally processed her as a bride instead of the war, which she refuses. Dax is starting his mating heat and they get him processed right away for a bride, but his bride was never taken out of the system and is not a part of the program.....so, he goes to get her. Her and her brothers team are in the middle of an op when he lands right in the middle. This causes her brother to be taken and her and her mate to go get him back.This is one of my favorite sci-fi series, it always has some action, it's funny and so damn hot.....the trifecta in my opinion. It's a real addiction.

Enjoyed the book. Liked the plot and the characters. Glad the spanking part was short because I find that detracts from a good story. I don't like the whole 'You have been naughty you need a spanking. Oh look how wet you are you must really enjoy it so I will spank you more'. Thankfully this wasn't too bad, but why do they have 'need' to be hit to 'find out something about themselves? All well and good if they person wants it, but not if they have said no. Anyway I do like the Atlans. They are big, strong and caring.

I enjoyed this book. I have read some of the others and also enjoyed those. I have only scored it as 4/5 as the story and sex scenes are nice but basically it falls into what I would term my "easy read" category. I save the 5 stars for more detailed challenging stories but if you want a nice easy book with some sex then I definitely recommend this.

I find this a real mixture, i like the strong characters and the interesting story , but seriously why does every species on all the planets insist on spanking, it really really annoys me that its written that we just bend over and happily take it ,wouldnt happen, most women especially these strong often military would turn around and punch them,if it wasnt for the fact it makes earth women look weak these books would be great please drop the spanking and make the females stronger of spirit.

A perfectly paced, great read. The characters were engaging and the plot was interesting. Plenty of steamy action means there isn't a lengthy or complex back story, however this is an enjoyable read and I will definitely read the other books in this series.

Great loved it another good read I love reading about the interstellar brides books keep writing and I will keep reading the next book in the series
