Must have ACT training to use
As a therapist, I really enjoyed using this approach with my client; however, if you are planning to use this with a patient, you MUST have ACT training prior to implementing this protocol. This is not a protocol I would have been able to utilize without prior training in ACT.

Very easy to follow therapist guide for treating Trichtillomania!
The workbook and therapist guide are very good companions to Douglas W.Woods text 'Tic Disorders, Trichtillomania, and Other Repetitive Behavior Disorders'. The worksheets are available to download which makes this great value for money as it can be used with multiple clients. The therapist guide is a simplified version of the treatment program without the more detailed discussion of the research from which these methods have been derived. Very good if you just want a quick course or refresher. Also easily adapted for use with other repetitive behaviour disorders.

very good and helpful tool for use with my clients
I am using this workbook as a tool with clients who are diagnosed with Trichotillomania and it is the best tool I have found for this purpose. I also have the clinician's guide for my own use in working with the clients. One needs a step-by-step "program" when working with this disorder and the workbook offers that very structured program. One of my clients said it is the perfect accompaniment for her weekly efforts as she attempts to reduce her hair pulling behavior. She likes taking the homework assignments with her as a comforting reminder and guide.

Evidence based intervention
Excellent integration of ACT and established behavior modification techniques for compulsive behaviors. It is good to see this advancement in the treatment of TTM

Worth it paired with your intuition.
Walked my client through this material which she found very helpful along with gestalt and DBT. Pair this material (evidenced based) with other modalities that fit your client. The client ant therapist versions work well together but is very black and white follow till the end. My client and I used it black and white till we knew where we needed to go and then worked from there.

A really useful guide for a disorder hard to treat
I'm a psychiatrist and am treating several patients with TTM, but there's not much about it to do it right and this guide seems to be really what my cols. and I were looking for. If it put us down, I'll come back and tell.

Great for manual based therapy.
Very helpful for structuring ACT on trichotillomania and dermatotillomania. Needed to supplement with other ACT resources for my own edification.

The ACT portions are helpful but ultimately pretty shallow.
This book is overly simplistic. It presumes the function of hair pulling is largely the same for every client. The ACT portions are helpful but ultimately pretty shallow.
