Fantastic malt but not quite what I expected
After asking questions about potential fake following a review in Dec I was comforted that the whisky was genuine. It arrived today and after letting it breath for half an hour (intense fruit was missing from palate on 1st sip) it tastes beautifully sherried with more toffee/fudge notes on the palate. It’s quite complex with a bit of a nice musty note and a really intense and long rich dark chocolate and honey finish followed by pepper. Definitely a genuine article. You can tell by the depth of flavour and oily viscosity that it has been aged for 15yrs.I would say that it is slightly different to expected, a little less fruit sherbety and more toffee notes than my other Sherry Bombs (Aberlour A’bunadh and The Glenrothes Whisky Makers Cut). However, these are at a higher ABV,are not aged as long and are matured in 1st fill Oloroso casks rather than a mix of Oloroso and PX casks. I would say that the flavours are more intense in my other Sherry Bombs but the depth and complexity of this whisky is better.Great choice. You will not regret it.

Bought as a present
Bought this as a present and he seemed to like it. Classed as the poor man's Macallan.

Quality, but let it breathe
A quality dram which benefits from a time to breathe. It's tastes better after a couple of weeks of opening. No idea why, it just does. The 12 year old is also worth checking out. It's not as complex but is great value.

Very smooth and wonderful Sherry which lingers in the mouth.
I have not drank the pre 2015 bottles before Glendronach ran out of this whiskey so I can’t offer a comparison. This is very easy to drink, very smooth. I enjoy the sweet Sherry after taste which lingers in the mouth the most. I don’t think this bottle will last long.I have taken a pic of when these was bottled.

A High Quality Whiskey
I bought this whiskey as a Christmas gift for my day as he enjoys his whiskies. He said that this is the nicest whiskey he’s ever had and he will be saving it especially for special occasions! Certainly high praise was given for this bottle!

Best Single Malt I have tasted
This is a wonderful whisky by far the best I have had, After maturing in a sherry cask for fifteen years the flavour is quite simply delicious. There's a rich aroma of whisky with a hint of sherry and a long finish after you swallow the first mouthful, I can't praise this whisky and will definitely buy another bottle next Christmas if not before.
