Luigi Bormioli Atelier Pinot Noir Wine Glass, 20-5/8-Ounce, Set of 6

Living in the wine country, we give our wine glasses a workout. We need glasses that are sufficiently elegant for our oenophile friends, tough enough to put in the dishwasher, and not so precious that we or our guests will feel bad if one breaks. We used to always use the Riedel Vinum glasses (about $20 ea at Target) for parties, but they show scratches from dishwasher use. The Luigi Bormioli have become our go-to wine glasses. We love the shape and feel of their Atelier Pinot Noir glasses and the Luigi Bormioli 15.5 oz Magnifico white wine glasses. We have used them extensively for over 4 years now for dinner parties, wine tasting parties and everyday use, and they show minimal to no scratches from regular dishwasher use. My wife recently dropped one of the Magnifico glasses into our ceramic sink and we were amazed that it bounced three times and did not break. I recently recommended the Magnifico glasses to our son, who has space in his apartment kitchen for only one type of wine glass for all wines and all occasions.

Love these glasses. The contour at the widest part of the glasses is slightly sharper than the pictures would let on. The appearance is "different" than many other wine glasses, and very elegant. The glass feels sturdy, and they're dishwasher safe! I purchased the matching Riesling white wine glasses as well.

These wine glasses will hold up to 21 fluid ounces. Folks that is nearly 83 percent of one 750 milliliter bottle of wine. The good thing about this large of a glass is that when you pour a few ounces into the glass it will give the wine a chance to breathe. On the other hand if you are not careful with the pour you could quickly be on your way to a hangover. Another bad thing about this glass is that the opening is only 2.75 inches across. That makes it a bit difficult to wash unless you have long slim fingers and that makes it much easier to break. I have large hands and have broken more than my share of wine glasses while washing them, but have solved that problem by using my round happy face sponge to clean the interior of the glass. This wine glass is a bit large for the average person to hold anywhere except by the stem where I am told is the proper place to hold it anyway. Within a couple of weeks, I did break one of the glasses when I picked it up at an angle by the rim. Again, the safe way to handle this product is by the stem. It feels very sturdy in my hand, is relatively inexpensive for a set of 6, and would make an nice house warming gift, but I prefer a smaller and easier to clean wine glass. Enjoy!

Really beautiful wine glasses. A little bigger than I expected, but totally fine with it. Love that it's sturdy and great quality. The wine glasses look as if you brought them home from an elegant restaurant. Worth the price!

These are elegant and sturdy glasses. We have a horrible track record with glasses and I've broke every set I've ever had, but these have lasted through so many bangs and bumps that would have broke other glasses. Thoroughly satisfied, and they're lovely nice glasses on top of how durable they are.

These are lovely glasses. But, a cautionary note to the seller/Amazon: please pack them robustly for shipping. Our first order arrived smashed, we didn't even have to open the box to see the broken glasses, we could hear them clink. Amazon kindly replaced the order immediately. The replacement has arrived, and the glasses are look and feel great, and thankfully are in one piece. Well- almost. There is a minute chip on the rim of one glass, which is difficult to see at first, but can definitely be felt when you run your finger around it. Therefore, we will not be able to serve wine in this glass. Would it be possible to replace just this one glass? I would love to order the Luigi Bormioli Atelier Sauvignon Blanc glasses too, but am now worried about shipping breakages.
