Mom, It's My First Day of Kindergarten!

Today was our great grandson's first day of kindergarten. We have had a lot of fun reading this prior to his big day. He had lots of questions and we giggled working through all of the answers. I feel it helped him prepare for the start of school.

This is a nice first day of kindergarten book. It shows both the anxiety of the child and the mom at different moments. The illustrations are well done too.

This book is perfect for supporting the students who think they are all grown up and ready for "big kid" school. Part of the story also shows how the mom progresses from worry-wort to making new friends, too. I bought a copy for our library and another copy for a first-year kindergarten teacher.

My oldest son will be K next year and he loves this book... the graphics are such that he understands the feelings, so he asks: "mommy, why is the boy's mommy so shy?" It's a very intuitive book and made easy to understand. Highly recommend.

This is a wonderful book. It has the child reassuring the parent that he's ready for Kindergarten. So many of these books make the child fearful of starting school when they were not.

Grandson did not like. Mom is pictured small and blue in all the pictures..until the end. Was confusing and a little scary for him. Saved it so he could donate it to the public library.
