All About Ellie (2) (The Critter Club) Paperback – Illustrated, January 1, 2013

This is book #2 in the series- i would highly recommend reading book #1 first before reading this gem. The critter club is a fantastic beginner chapter book for new readers. I would probably level this book at beginning second grade or level J- The chapters are short and to the point, language is simple but has a few challenging words. This book is easy to comprehend- a must have series if your child is beginning to read!

My 6 year old is an emerging reader so we read this book together (as well as Book 1 in the series). She stays engaged in the story and "gets" the lessons being imparted. I am hoping she rereads them in a year or two on her own. We're looking forward to reading Book 3 together.

My 8 year old granddaughter has to keep a reading diary for school. She couldn't wait to get home from school and start reading this book. This was her second "Critter Club" book. It has made reading really fun - and not work.

Bought this for my granddaughter for x-mas. She is 7 and reading chapter books. I haven't given it to her yet but the glittery cover is eye catching and I thumbed through the book and I know she will love it.

My daughter liked this book very much because she liked that Ellie learned that she can't think about just herself. My son liked the ladybug song for the play.

My grandchild is really enjoying this series. It's very appropriate for kids that are just starting to read chapter books independently.
