Best solution for a dual suspension bike, and great for all bikes.
I know this is not designed for a dual suspension bike, but the alternative is to buy one made for a suspended wheel that only holds 40-50 pounds of weight. I searched all over for a solution and the 6 legs of this rack made it possible, and it looks good with minimal protruding metal. I understand a little about engineering and by moving the legs around, you can make this thing super stable. Since I could not mount the bike carrier to the seat post, I anchored the 2 center posts forward to serve as stabilizer bars (see photo). That keeps the rack from moving forward or backward. I then added 2 turnbuckles (see photo), and that keeps the rack from moving left or right. I kept the two rear legs as upright as possible for greater strength to ensure weight is fully supported vertically. This thing is super stable and holds my entire weight of 180+ (includes clothes, shoes, phone, keys, etc.) and then some without budging and inch. I'm confident it can hold any battery pack, a slew of heavy items, and another person if that was ever called upon. I seriously think the tire would burst before this rack would fail.

Great!
Great product but time consuming to install

Works great on my folding bike
This rear rack is heavy duty, and significantly more stronger than my Topeak Explorer rack on another MTB with disc brakes. It was easy to install, and I replace the quick release lever with a star-head bolt. BTW, the ny-lock nuts it came with are holding. My only suggestion is to not install it too far back if you add a heavy load because it will definitely tip the bike back once you get off the seat. I don't know if it can handle 400 lbs, but I can confirm 150 lbs easily. When testing this, we hit a few bumps that caused impulse forces high that 150 lbs, no problems. IMO, this rack is the best heavy-duty design for a universal fit and a great value.

Replace all fasteners immediately with stainless. Added $40 top the cost.
Seems like a good strong rack. All the chrome steel fasteners began rusting immediately. Another $40 for all stainless fasteners. I had to anti rattle all of the support struts.

Sturdy enough to be a taxi!
This rack is fairly easy to install. It is straightforward, but sometimes slightly annoying. However this rack is super sturdy! This holds up great. I have carried my sister (about 85lbs). It won't affect your ride to carry people. I am amazed that I found such a strong rack for this price!

Universal?
The frame clamps are not made for all bicycle frames. For my race track bike frame is too small for the clamps to take hold and secure the rack. Only the seat post clamp will qualify to secure a good hold and with this said the full 400lbs holding capacity will not accure.

You get what you pay for
This works, and I've used it for around 6 months, with up to 40 lbs on it. I have a rear suspenstion mountain bike and I wanted to attach the rods to the seat post lower down. It works with plenty of room for the suspension and tire. So that is good. Don't believe that it is designed for "400"lbs. That's a complete joke! It is thin metal and not very strong. I took it to Walmart and checked with a schwin that claims to hold 20 lbs ( I think) and the schwinn rack was much thicker. With it installed properly I did cary 40 lbs and it did ok for the 15 street ride. But I don't think that it will hold up to 40 lbs if used many times.
